It is either the substitute remote is compatible with your TV ot the problem is in the IR remote receiver in front of the TV.
Do you still have the original remote, then try testing it.
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

CEILING FAN WORKS,BUT REMOTE ONLY WORKS THE FAN SECTION, WILL NOT DIM LIGHTS NOR TURN OFF LIGHTS ONLY SO WE CAN USE FAN ONLY. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO?

Fist, make sure the bulbs are good. Check in another fixture to verify that they indeed work. Since the remote works the fan, dead batteries can be ruled out. The problem will be confined to either a bad receiver in the fixture, or a bad remote.

Since Hampton Bay is a line carried by Home Depot, you may have some luck bringing your remote to HD and trying it out on the display units. You may need to try different address settings on the remote to find one that works if you don't get results the first time. This is usually several two position switches often called "DIP Switches". Change the positions of them one at a time until you find one that works. Try to control a fan first. Once you find a fan the reacts to the commands from the remote, try to control the light. If the light doesn't work - the remote has a bad transmitter or light switch control. You could attempt to disassemble the switch, but most don't have parts that look different when they're bad. You'll probably have to replace the remote.

If the lights work, then the problem is with your fixture. You can remove or simply bypass the radio controller in the fixture and install an after market receiver and remote to control it again. These are sold at Home Depot and work with any paddle fan.

I hope this helps & good luck!

I cant CREATE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT,? AND MY MARKET DOESN'T WORK

You will need a Google Account for the Market to work.
If you are having problems creating an account on the device itself simply use a desktop/laptop computer to create a Google or Gmail account.
After doing so, go back to your phone and navigate to "Accounts & Sync" which is in you phone's "Settings."
Next, tap "Add Account" and now "Sign In."
You may now begin using the Market.

The code of my home theater (Sony BDV-E570) listed in remote manual ( Kamaleon URC-9960b01) doesn't work. Do you have the right one?

Hello
That is I wonder about your problem post! No universal remotes have the codes for Blu-Rays so far. You haven't try for that. You can synchronise other devices like TVs, VCRs, DVDs and so n, but not with Blu-Rays. The remote control you posesses now is one amoung the greatest one universal remotes we can get from market. Not waste your time for this purpose. Try to get its original number remote control from Sony. Just contact the nearest Sony Authorised Service center. They can provide you the original number remote handset. If you don't know the number of the remote control, isn't matter, just give them the exact model number of your device. OK.

First, remove the battery cover for the Wii Remote
Then open the small panel on the front of your Wii console
While holding down the sync button on the controller, press the sync button located under the small panel on the console, wait a moment, your contoller should then be synced.

How can I fix a CD Writer or a DVD rom when It's

Make sure that the CD/DVD has the power light on. Try and use the ermergency hole a few times to open and close the unit. This will sometimes get the unit back in sync with the gear mechanism. If that does not work, take the unit out of the tower and remove the case. Usually the ribbon and power cables are long enough to hook up the unit on the desk next to the tower. Inspect the mechanisn to see that the parts appear to be synced and then use emergency hole a couple of times. This has worked for me several times. I just did it last month on a friends computer. If this doesn't fix the problem, it's possible that the button you push is bad. Hope this will help you. UAW 974

Model RAR188A Tried to change battery on remote sensor. Still doesn't work. I think I have to reset it but can't remember how.

Both the remote and base units have a very small hole near the battery spot, less than 1/8" in diameter. Push something smaller than the hole into it, like the end of an unbent paper clip. The base unit, at least, will give a tiny beep and it will have reset. The remote may not beep, but also will be reset.

Hi, I have a Yamaha rx-v450 amp that won't change sound modes (stereo, hall, jazz, rock etc) from the remote control but it works from the buttons on the unit. I've checked my remote by pointing it...

Hi! Transmitting doesn't mean it's working, What you should do to test it is use a good quality universal remote such as a Logitech Harmony and first program the preset code for your receiver into the Universal Remote. If that works, you know your OEM remote has gone bad, at least for those buttons. If it doesn't then you you should attempt to have your Universal Remote "learn" the IR signals from your receiver's remote If the controls still don't work, there is a problem with either your IR receiver on your receiver or the the circuitry that proceesses the signals into commands. Good Luck!
