It would seem like it's working , I am getting very frustrated. When I try pressing start windows normally, it freezes at the the starting windows screen.

Laptop off. Put the Restoration Disk (CD) in the optical drive. Turn the laptop on. When prompted choose Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation) Post back in a Comment. joecoolvette

Hello,
It sounds to me like the harddrive has errors on it. First, I would try completely reinstalling windows with the windows disk. If that does not solve the problem there are several pieces of software that are much stronger harddrive repair solutions than the built in Windows one. Try this one, it is free for 10 days. You will need another computer (friend's computer?) to download and burn this software onto a CD, then put the CD in your computer and boot to it by pressing any key when it asks you to.

You probably have a mbr virus. Try this:

Download The following iso listed below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner. It should fix you right up.
