We have bought a boat 2004 with a Raymarine C-80 chartplotter. We bought the Navionics marine charts to go with it. We have boutght the Canada & SE Alaska Gold card. We received a SD card but our system needs a CF card. We then bought the Raymarine adaptor CF to SD card. When I put the card in (with the adpator) nothing is happening - I don't see any buoy... The update have been done. I have heard that I somewhere should be selecting the area of the card I want to installed but I don't know where. Can you help ?

You cannot just reprogram your Raymarine to european standard.

This radio has been built and is licenced for using with USA frequency, in Europe his use will be limited to lower bands with no modification.

To be fully adapted to higher bands, the radio must be taken apart, and you need to bridge a contact on the main board.

The use of the radio after modifacion won't be legal in Europe.

Has the DSM and the E120 software been upgraded to the latest software: 4.12 for the DSM and 5.52 for the E120?

Try this first. You can download the software off Raymarine.com and burn each to a separate compact flash card.

I have seen many problems like you are experiencing solved with this simple change.

If this doesn't solve the problem, the DSM will have to go back to Raymarine for repair.

Hi,

Your problem is the 4GB card. The Raymarine C-Series have a problem with their compatability tool and larger CF cards. You should use a card no bigger than 256mb.

The card probably worked in the store because the newer models accept larger cards.

Get an older card from ebay etc and copy your 4gb files onto it and try again. The ST1000+ does not have an internal GPS. What it does have is an electronic compass underneath the keypad. When you order the Tillerpilot to steer to a bearing, the unit uses the electronic compass to steer using a series of corrections.

I have a c120 classic and i upgraded my navionics gold chart using navionics update. aafter a successful download, i am trying to view the sonarcharts on the display. i was able t see it once but i really don't know how to get it back again. Also, trying to scroll around the area, the MFD was very slow in redrawing the area. when i take thenaviojnics card out, the redraw rate goes back to normal..

My boat is pointed in the wrong direction on my Raymarine C80 chartplotter?

I'm not sure where you would locate "reset to factory specifications". Look for it in the GPS menus (may be in the System) and reset, it is no big deal to reset a GPS, it will not hurt anything. I the GPS is set to back Track. To check this turn your boat around and follow the track on the lake chart. If you and your boat are now going in the same direction the GPS was set on Back Track.
