SOURCE: how can I make the Maytag Centennial 3.2 agitate
You really can't without redesigning the washing machine.
SOURCE: the tub of my toploading washing machine leans to
The suspension springs have gone out of alignment or the tub holding mechanism is shifted. look throught the bottom to see the fault in the suspension. correct on the mountings.
Even a leaning can come if the motor suspension is out of alignment. This must be centered in and the top door will close evenly.
SOURCE: I just purchased a Maytag
Unfortunately legality no one can tell you how to bypass the lid switch, however I do sympathize with your feelings. This was their attempt to save water by having only a partial fill if you were doing a small load.by auto sensing the load. In my opinion this design Waste water because they took away the manual water level control and created an electronic nightmare.....You might just have to get use to adding all your clothes and detergent close the lid and no peeking Sorry I could not redesign this machine
SOURCE: how do I get top of my washer..Maytag Centennial
This model Maytag is actually manufactured by Whirlpool. To access the lid switch on this particular model, all you should have to do is remove the operator console. The console has a retaining clip on each side holding it to the cabinet top. To release these clips, simply take a putty knife and slide it under the left and right front corners of the control panel push straight in towards the back of the washer. The clips will depress, allowing the operator console to be lifted up. The lid switch is mounted next to the left lid hinge. Refer to the "Top and Cabinet" parts illustration, Item 6 at searspartsdirect.com:

Some other websites you may refer to for parts include:
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com
NOTE: If you model number does not cross reference to these sites, use the part numbers fromthe Sears websites as your search criteria. Often, the model numbers may not be included on some websites (newly added models), but the part numbers will.
HINT: In some cases, what may appear to be a bad lid switch, may only be an actuator adjustment. The acutator on these models is the rod attached to the left lid hinge. You can bend the rod slightly to adjust the contact with the lid switch, or it may be tightened as necessary. If the switch toggles (clicks) by hand with the actuator rod removed, the switch typically is not bad.
If you need to remove the entire cabinet to access under the lid, the following link explains how:

I had the same problem. The lid lock assembly is broken.
If you are under warranty get it replaced. If not remove the top of the washer
and take out the switch assembly. The 4 wires going in are Yellow, Red, White,
and Blue. If you short the white and blue together, the washer thinks the lid
is closed. If you short the red white and blue together the washer thinks the
lid is closed and locked. The yellow is only there to activate the
electromagnetic switch.
Disconnecting the switch assembly will not work.
The electromagnet locks the lid and it also unlocks the lid. It is not a matter
of cutting the power to the magnet.
Installing 2 switches that connect the red white and blue is the best option if
you want to remove the lock.
The first switch should connect the white and blue. (LID CLOSED)
The second should connect the red to the white/blue connection. (LID LOCKED)
After that the lid should work.
Please post a follow-up if this works for you.
GOOD LUCK
