Mco153ub microwave the handle is broke on this microwave. when i called the local parts house they tell me that this is not a model that they have parts for? i purchased this unit from home depot in 2005 and it is made in korea. i need to know if a handle is available and how to door apart to change it.?

That is a failed membrane keypad.

It is part number 3518522640B and you can order it from the Pros here.

I went to a local parts place. They told me it was discontinued.

Actually the door handle CAN be replaced at a cost much less than pruchasing an entire new microwave oven. And, YOU can repair this yourself and save the cost of a service call. On MOST microwave ovens, you just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

If the model number is correct, the part number is WB15X322. The cost is about $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

Apparently the part number for the black handle is WB15X10020 and the white one is WB15X335.

You can order either and find find helpful exploded view diagrams here.

Enter the part number to order the part, and enter your model number to find the exploded views.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.
