When I try to connect my HTC Trophy to Zune to put music on my phone, it will say connect my device to sync even after i connect my device. It just will not recognize that my phone is connected besides that it starts charging. How can i get my phone to connect to my computer so I can sync with Zune?

Try turning it off then back on again

1. You need to put the phone into Recovery Mode. This is a 3 button Combination.

Remove battery for 30 seconds and replace. Press and hold, Volume Up + Power button + Camera button. When the HTC Logo appears let go of the buttons. The phone will go into the Recovery Mode.

2. Connect the phone to your PC. You need to have Zune software installed. The Software will automatically start and load the Recovery Menu.

3. On screen, put a tick in the agreement box. This warns you that any and all changes to the phone will be removed.
4. Click NEXT.

5. Note the Warning symbol in the middle of the phones screen. This tells you NOT to disconnect the phone!

6. Simply follow the on screen hints to click NEXT when required!

download htc sync on to your pc and yo and connect the phone via usb, it should work

Download Zune software from HERE . Now sync the contents ( pictures , music ) . If you are connecting the phone first time , it will go through the relationship setup , here make sure you select sync all ( for music , pictures , videos ) . This will sync your contents automatically to the computer without asking you . If you have already setup your phone with zune , then click on " settings " , select phone and change the above there .
Now you will have to hard reset the phone . Here is how you do it
With your phone powered off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. While holding the volume buttons, press the END/POWER button briefly and then release it. When you see a warning message on screen, release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons. Follow the instructions on the screen .
Once you hard reset , you have to start over again and then connect the phone back to zune and there you go , you are back to square one .

Zune software is required to get your music, videos, and podcasts from your computer to your phone. It is used to sync music, videos, pictures podcast etc. between your computer and phone. If you don't have the Zune software installed on your computer, go to www.zune.net to download and install it.

How to Set up Zune to sync your computer and phone?
1. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
2. Zune automatically opens on your computer, if you haven't opened it.
3. Wait for Zune to recognize your phone, and then follow the onscreen instructions to Set it up.

I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.

2. Perform a soft reset. If syncing your device doesn't work, you can reset your software by holding the "Back" and "Up" buttons on the central control pad. Your screen will flicker, and then the Zune logo will appear with a status bar. Within a few moments, your software should be returned to normal.
3. Perform a system restore. However, doing this will erase all of your music, videos and photos, so only do this if you have exhausted both of the other troubleshooting steps. You can restore your Zune by connecting it to your computer, selecting it from the "Devices" list, and then pressing the "Restore" button. The process may take a few minutes, depending on how much content you had on your device. Once the restore has finished, your Zune will be completely blank.

Okay... what you do is Hold your zune in you right hand.. open the toilet bowl with your left.. put the zune in the toilet... and then flush it... or if you have not gotten a zune... just throw the $200+ in the toilet instead.. Because i have the same exact problem as these guys and none of their solutions have worked..
