On our 6250 Generator, the breaker pops continually. This happens when running only lights on our RV, or when using it to run a water pump. It will run just fine and then the sound changes and the breaker pops. Are there replaceable breakers or fuses that we need to replace. This is a 5000W unit.

You will have more available power (and use a different larger breaker already on your generator) if you use the 220 plug instead of the 115v plugs. Have an electrician make you an breakout box separating the 220v plug into two 115v outlets. Or your can replace the push button breakers with better quality 25 amp. Problem is that the 115v receptacles are probably 15 amp. Other solution is to try a 220v pump instead of 115v (more efficient draws less amps). Good luck

Recently purchased a 4400W generator to operate travel trailer primarily and on occasion my ac unit. Connected the generator to the travel trailer, then ran the a/c, everything going well, then the circuit...

What size circuit breaker is on the generator that is tripping? You'll need a 20amp for AC alone, then consider other things that are drawing current when RV plugged in like , converter, fridge etc that may be drawing current at same time. Make sure fridge is on propane, as well as water heater if you have electric element option on water heater. AC may only draw 12-15 amps when running if good and clean and wired properly, but will draw 17-18 amps when compressor kicks in. Perhaps generator not designed for that surge?

My rv air conditioner won't run on a 5000 watt generator, it pops the breaker on the generator. It is a 15,000 on a 1992 prower regal travel trailer

Most likely the air conditioner draws more power than the generator can supply. Check the current needed for the air conditioner in amps. It should be on a plate attached to the it. If the generator is a 5000 watt it can supply 5000 divided by the voltage required by the airconditioner. i.e. 240 (=20.8 amps) if you live in the UK or Ireland or 120 (41.6 amps) in most of the rest of the world. If it's a 12 Volt Airconditioner than you divide 5000 by 12 Note this is the absolute maximum that can be drawn and as power generally fluctuates will still probably cause the circuit breaker to trip. You should ideally be drawing no more than three quarters of the current available. If there are other appliances being run off the generator this again reduces the amount of current available.

What could cause my RV air conditioner to "pop" the breaker

Even though you don't specify which breaker is popping, I suspect your main breaker is going as you have 3 appliances that can draw a lot of current if they are calling for power all at once. Try running fridge and/or water heater on propane when using AC, to reduce the load. Many parks and trailers are limited to 30 amp service. Those 3 items drawing power at the same time will usually draw more than that. Add use of a microwave, and your really over.

My generator starts and runs fine but I keep popping the breakers with tools that shouldn't pop them. this is happening on both sides

a 6250 watt generator isn't as powerful as you might think.
Here is ohms law for Alternating Current. It is different than for Direct Current

AMPS= WATTS÷(VOLTS x PF) I=P÷(E x PF) A=W÷(V x PF) WATTS= VOLTS x AMPS x PF P=E x I x PF W=V x A x PF VOLTS= WATTS÷AMPS E=P÷I V=W÷A VOLT-AMPS= VOLTS x AMPS VA=E x I VA=V x A HORSEPOWER= (V x A x EFF x PF)÷746 POWERFACTOR= INPUT WATTS÷(V x A) EFFICIENCY= (746 x HP)÷(V x A x PF)

Honda Generator 3500 - Using the air conditioner on RV and run for couple of minutes kicking the breaker out. Proper warm up procedure used. Using thre 120/240 4 prong plug-in. Wondering if the breaker is...

A couple of questions come to mind. 1. Has this always happen or is this just recent? If its always happen you might be running the a/c on a breaker not strong enough. On the a/c unit on the back there should be a metal plate with the Volts, Amps required to run the unit. Make sure the breaker is rated higher then whats required. If that all checks out you could very well have a malfunctioning breaker. Its a cheap fix to try to replace. If that doesnt work then one can only assume the a/c unit or your generator is malfuntioning.

Portable generator pops breaker when temp is over 75 degrees

I take it you have RV plugged into generator. Hopefully direct with no extension cords. Are you using a 30 to 15 amp adapter to plug into generator? What is the rating of the breaker on the generator that keeps tripping, suspect it's only 15 amp?

I have a 3 year old Coleman Powermate 6250

Try this! To excite it. Shut off the generator! Unplug everything,Then use the 12 volt battery to excite it per manual. Make sure the engine is NOT running and the breaker switch is in the on position. Now with the battery 12V removed restart the generator! This should fix it if the problem is that it lost its magnetism.
