SOURCE: Every button including feature Meridian 7310 calls to an internal

Sounds like a stuck button.

Do what I call the rake... swipe at the keypad over and over, look to see if there is any button lower or depressed on the keypad or buttons.

Someone may have spilled something on it (cola, coffee), and the set may require to be taken apart if there is a stuck button.

SOURCE: Manual and/or wiring diagram for Nortel's C6 CLID unit.

Hook up orange terminal screws to an available port on KSU
Loop lines from the telco to the first six pairs on the C6 then to the KSU trunk ports.

Software must be DR5 on KSIU to support caller ID.

I purchased a meridian M7310 from another office, we plugged in to phone jack and have nothing. There is not power cord and cannot see where there is a battery on the phone. Would this be an issue for...

It sounds like you may be trying to use this phone with a landline. These phones have to be used with a phone system (616KSU, 8x24 KSU). Your phone could be working, but the contrast is bad. You can adjust by Feature *7. Also, Check the connections for your panel if you do have a panel. The wiring does not matter at the distribution panel because they can be switched. There is not a positive or a negative.

I have 824 installed at my office, with three CO lines. All CO lines were working OK, but one out of them can not be selected now, and any body dialling from outside to that number gets a busy tone. In...

If the CO line works properly when disconnected from your system KSU, something in the KSU is keeping that line off-hook. If the trouble isn't caused by a phone that's holding the line, try resetting the KSU by shutting it off and unplugging it from the AC line. Reconnect the power and turn the system back on. This should clear up the problem if it was due to the controller being confused, which can sometimes happen. If the system picks the line again and holds it, check the phones for one with a stuck line select button. Then you'll need to have the KSU serviced if the trouble continues.

Nortel 824 doesn't hold memory after a power outage

I though that the battery or capacitor to hold the memory was in the s/w cartridge but I wasn't sure. I reprog a couple of things then cut the power and the system reset to default values again so it looks like I need a new DR5 cartridge. Thanks for all the help. F.K.

Dear joanmyers,

You may want to try the CONFIG mode to change the time. Press Feature **266344 and depending on they version of the software (i.e, DR5) you may be able to change the time in the system configuration.

Good luck!
