This is clearly because you have overloaded the inverter. You can notice the overload symbol being lighted up when you hear that sound, i.e; if you have such a symbol in your inverter (mine has one). If you want to use your lap that badly when the power is out, try switching of unnecessary loads from the inverter, (like fan or light) and give it a check.

Hope this one solved your problem. If you have additional doubts, please come back to us.

P.S: If the solution is helpful, please accept the solution.

Regards,
Sunny.

High pitched noise/beep on emachine e440 laptop

In Windows 7 ,Try the Power Options in Control Panel. Set to High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set Sleep to never, select Advanced Power settings, scroll through the Advanced Power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never and Power Buttons and Lid to Shut down. Always shut down and unplug the Laptop when not in use to prevent damage due to a power surge and a possible Fire hazard IF the battery malfunctions. Not to mention unnecessary wear on the components.

Some keys not working, makes a high pitch noise when switched on

The high pitch sound may be the power supply adapter, unplug let it run on battery, if sound goes away change the power supply, the laptop keyboard will need to be replaced, go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to keyboard and power supply if needed.

High Pitched Noise Coming from Sony STR-DH510 LCD Screen - how to fix?

Hello
The problem is with its backlight inverter board. there are some step-up transformeres [small ones] fitted on board. If any one's core bacome loose this fault will occur. Just open the TV and listen to which one makes hi-pitch noise. Replace it, if you can buy it from the electronic market at your town. In most cases, the inverter board needs replacement.
This board can locate on the right or left side of the panel, fitted vertically.

Hi grade laptop makes high pitched noise and the screen is blank

High pitch noise usually means the inverter board that drives the lamp behind the LCD display. If the rest of the laptop appears to work, for example, hard drive light blinking while booting, try hooking up an external monitor and hit whatever function key that switches you to the external monitor. If everything works, you may want to replace the inverter board yourself. It is not horribly hard if you are very careful. But it is not exactly a walk in the park kind of work.

If the rest of the laptop does not appear to work, the DC-DC step down power circuit is probably shot, which will also make a high pitch noise. In this case, you will have to replace the motherboard. Replacing a motherboard is a major pain in the behind. In most case, it is not worth the trouble if you have an older model.

High pitch noise

Hi,

For laptop repairs & parts, pls try here. Not really that hard a fix but major concern is how soon do you get the parts and how to confirm your diagnosis.

You may want to consider other possibilities such as:
1. mechanical problem (fan motor bearing, CD/DVD spindle, HD platter; and/or
2. CCFLamp inverter.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
