Sound Interference I keep getting a terrible interefence on the sound through this unit. This will only clear by unplugging the unit, leaving for a few minutes and and plugging back in. This always clear the interferences but it always returns within a day or so. The interference is worst when watching the TV through the DVD channel or trying to record on the unit but can also occur when watching pre-recorded discs. I also suffered the loading problem on start up but this was repaired about a year ago. Are the prioblems connected and how can I resolve?

This is an issue for this machine. It happened to me, and after some internet research, I found that JVC acknowleged it (on their web site). The unit was still under warranty, and JVC had me ship it to them for repair. It was fixed... for about a year. It started doing the same thing recently. I only had enough time to discover that I hadn't purchased any extended warranty, then the thing quit altogether. Wouldn't even power up, wouldn't eject the tape or DVD that were inside. I gave up, and took the case off to recover the tape and DVD. What I found inside was what looked like any DVD or CD drive from any computer. Since I had a case for an external IDE drive, I hooked it up to my Mac using that drive. Good news! Not only did it eject my DVD when I pushed the button, I found that my Mac with OS X Tiger recognized the drive! With absolutely NO software installation (not even a driver), My Mac now burns DVDs beautifully on that drive using Toast. At least I salvaged something really good from that piece of junk sold by JVC.

I had the same fault - only answer is to take/send to the nearest JVC repairer. (Cost me £68 which included a £45 service fee!)
