My RXV663 does not power up Ive had it for 2 yrs, I kept in storage inoperative for 3 months (unplugged and completely disconnected), when I connected it up, it would not power up, no clicking sounds, no display, nothing. I gave it to my dealer here in sri -lanka but i thing im being ripped off. They've had the amp 3 months now but still cant find the problem. they said they swapped the crystal 20mhz, the cpu, no luck now they are planning to swap the whole P.C.B Digital and see if this works - im getting the impression im being ripped off the pcb digital alone costs more than the amp. Could it be that protection ciruitry opereated 3x consecutively and disabled the power? if yes how can that be fixed any ideas on part nos? I simply cannot trust the dealer here in sri lanka please advise

It makes no sense that the dealer cannot find the problem. There are several areas they could be looking at and are not. The service manual is available,

SOURCE: Should I just Buy a new one?

You have a bad power supply or the audio output circuit has a short in it. You are correct by saying its probably betterv off getting a new unit. Most likly cost you more then a brand new shiny unit would . Good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread

Does your TV support "Line In" or "Aux" or "External"? if so plug your "Low end" DVD directly into the back of the tv and verify that you Can get audio. Quite a few DVD players do have a mute feature. Be sure this is turned "off"...accordianman

SOURCE: amp freezes when tv channel is changed

Are you using the HDMI for video AND audio or just video? Are you using the reciever as the video switcher by routing your devices into the amp and then from the out of the amp to the TV and then back to the amp from the TV HDMI output and the digital output? You may have a loop going on and the amp can't handle it.
If you are coming out of the TV with both HDMI and digital hooked to the same input selection on the amp and have the amp set for auto signal select, it could be throwing the amp for a loop and causing it to freak. From what I can see in the specs for that amp it has 2 HDMI in for connecting a HiDef Sat/Cable box, a DVD or Blu-Ray player or a gaming console, and then 1 output to the TV. HDMI handles both audio and video. Disconnect the digital cable and just use the HDMI for both audio and video.
The optimal set up would be as follows:

With a cable or sat box with HDMI out, go to the HDMI input to the TV. From the TV use either HDMI OR digital to the amp, not both. If you have Blu-Ray or HDMI DVD, connect that to the other HDMI input on the TV.

If the TV has only 1 HDMI input then connect the Cable or Sat box to one of the amp HDMI inputs and the Blu-Ray/DVD to the other and then from the HDMI out to the HDMI in to the TV with NO audio cable from the TV to the amp. Then use the cable remote to change channels.

See if one of those connection maps works for you.

If you need more help, let me know. Include the TV model and the digital audio cable interface type, whether it is optical or coax. It would also help knowing if you are using a Satellite or Cable box and which one it is.

Cheers

    Reassemble the Ice Maker
  • Step 1 Replace the ice machine storage tray.
  • Step 2 Plug the refrigerator into the outlet to restore power.
  • Step 3 Lower the internal power bar located just above the ice machine storage tray. This allows the ice machine to make new ice.
