My microwave(Maytag) show in the display a code 5E,what i can ido ?

"SE" means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

Depending on the exact model number or the oven, you may have to replace the membrane keypad itself, which is usually very affordable but requiring great care.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

On other model numbers, you can order a control panel frame which comes with a new keypad already installed.

You can look up part numbers for your specific Maytag / Whirlpool model here, then the Pros here usually have the best part prices.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Then you unplug the keypad (as per the photo below) and move the circuit board into your frame.

Some connectors on the relays have a lock:

Maytag Over the Oven Microwave Model MMV5100AA display shows "SE". All touch pads are inoperable. There IS power to the unit.

"SE" means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

You did not give us the full model number. It will be one of these:

MMV5100AAB
MMV5100AAQ
MMV5100AAS
MMV5100AAW

On these models, you would need to order a control panel frame which comes with a new keypad already installed. It's a simple do it yourself fix.

You can look up and order that part from the Pros here, our favorite supplier. If it's not in stock immediately, they will have it to you in a few days.

Maytag model mmv4203dw00 is showing a e5 and is dead in the water

Actually it can't be "dead" if a fault code is on the display.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

dee77f7.jpg

It should tell you what the E5 code means, but I would suspect a defective temperature sensor or control board.

I have accidentally locked my microwave oven (profile performance convection oven). I was cleaning the front. Can you tell me what to do?

Got you covered. Here you go:

Microwave - Explanation of the Child Lock Out Feature
Many microwave control panels can be locked to prevent accidental use or access by children.
There are two different ways to lock the control panel:
1. Press and hold the CLEAR/OFF pad for 3 seconds. The display will show "LOCK" and then revert to the time of day.
A small "L" will appear in the corner of the display as a reminder that the control panel is locked. If anyone tries to use the microwave, the display will show "LOCK".
2. On some models, press and hold the 5 and 7 pads simultaneously for 3 seconds.
To unlock the control: Repeat the procedure which was used to lock the control. (Press and hold the CLEAR/OFF pad for about 3 seconds or hold the 5 and 7 pad simultaneously for 3 seconds.)

That info is from GE

Hope that does the trick.

I am sorry but since you did not provide me with a model number, I am unable to answer or research the issue with the clock. If you haven't already done so, consult your users manual for proper instructions. Since this unit has a factory warranty, I would recommend contacting your dealer for a factory authorized servicer to address the clock issue at no charge. If they are unable to assist you, post me back and I can locate 1 with your zip code. Tip: Always provide the servicer or anyone you contact, with the brand name, and model number to expedite your complaint.
If my assistance helped resolve this issue, please show your appreciation by rating how effective my advice was in resolving this issue.

Panel flashing, ice door opening and closing constantly

I had the same problem, with this model and it was the high voltage control board located in the rear. Replaced the board and it is working OK. Maytag Part # 12920710 will work on this model and it is 40.00 cheaper than the one it shows when you do a parts search. It will come up 12920709. I checked with Maytag and they said 710 will work..
