The control buttons are not responding. Is there some way to reset the system? It is stuck on 76 degrees with the fan not coming on.

I have a trance thermostat set at 76 degrees and the readout says the temp is 76 but the fan and compressor keep running. Is this a bad thermostat?

Some thermostat will run a little longer than set point to maintain a space temp but depending on the age of thermostat probably need to replace it.

Rheem split system condenser high pressure limit/safety needs resetting frequently before it reaches the set temp of 76 degrees faren. what's wrong and what do i need to check?

Is the outdoor fan running? The fan cools the coils and compressor, therefore keeping the high pressure low enough to run. Either the fan is not working or its not spinning fast enough. Check the capacitor, or just replace it.

Sounds like the system is either over charged with freon or under sized. Call the same people back out ask for a supervisor to come out and check out the system any other company will charge you.

Over Tonnage A/C

A better solution than undersizing the fan (which would decrease your airflow and probably not satisfy the household as well) would be to change the deadband in your thermostat. (Disclaimer: best solution is always to have a properly sized unit!).
Most programmable thermostats have a "deadband" that can be programmed in. This deadband is a certain number of degrees, in heating and/or cooling, where the thermostat will not call the system even though you have reached a threshold temperature. I.e. System is set to call for cooling at 76 degrees. there is a 3 degree deadband. When the Tstat reads 76 it will add the deadband (3) and not call for cooling until the room temperature is 79. This will prevent the compressor from cycling quite so much.
Adjust your setpoint temperatures (i.e.76) with the deadband in mind and you can arrive at a range that is comfortable and reduces compressor cycling.
Good Luck!

Replace coolant sensor an 2 cooling fan relays an fan motors an fans still wont come on when car reach certian temp

The cooling fans are designed to come on at about 215 degrees to 219 degrees, and I have seen them come on at 225 degrees, the engine is designed to average 232 degrees at the most,it may not be warm enough to come on the first time, but the thermostat,if stuck will prevent this also, and you need to bleed the air out of the cooling system.

More than likely you is gonna have to replace the control.Sometimes getting a wash rag real hot and going over the buttons will help unstick them.
