Kinderkraft crib model 710

I have a Kinderdraft crib model #710. After assembling the front drop side, we are not able to push the rail down it is stuck. We followed the instruction in the owners manual by pulling upand tehn applying inward pressure with the calf of the leg on the plastic "Push" plate . The rail does not move down. Can any one help or does any one know a working phone number for Kinderkraft??

On the bottom of the front rail that drops (the drop rail), there are two plastic tension pieces (one at either end) that engage the two fixed, bottom rail slider hardware (the long, narrow pieces screwed top-and-bottom into the lower, inside portion of the tall, upright crib ends). These tension pieces are spring loaded, and the outer edge of each one rides along the outside (i.e., the parent's side) of the two bottom metal rail guides. Their purpose is to supply outward pressure against the lower part of the drop rail - that's what you push against when you press your lower leg upon the bottom of the drop side of the crib to lower it. They insure that when up, the drop side locks safely into place. I suspect these tension pieces are your problem. It sounds like they are improperly installed. Good luck.

I bought a kinderkraft crib used and it came with the hardware, but no instruction manual. Can I find assembly instrutions online?

  • I can tell you how to assemble it.
  1. Place an insert nut into the top of the stationary rail.
  2. Place another nut into the bottom of that same rail.
  3. Flip that rail over and put another nut into the top and bottom of it the same as you just did.
  4. Now stick a two bolts into one side of the headboard.
  5. Stand up the headboard and twist them bolds from the headboard into the stationary rail.
  6. Now you want to twist two bolts through the secondary headboard and through the other side of the stationary rail. Make sure not to tighten them bolts up to much yet.
  7. Now put the mattress support inside the crib.
  8. Take four bolts into the top holes that are pre-drilled in the slat on the headboard and then on through to the mattress support.
  9. Do the same now with the other slat support for the headboard.
  10. Now do the same with the two remaining slats for the secondary headboard.
  11. Now tighten all the bolts real well.
  12. Put the crib on it's side.
  13. Now your gonna stick the canisters into the legs. Tap them in with a hammer if they are a bit stubborn.
  14. Now slide the rubber off of the lower side bracket.
  15. Hold the front drop rail so that the push plate faces away from the crib.
  16. Now slide that front drop rail on the tracks until it is all the way in the crib and then reinstall the rubber stoppers.
  17. Now put the crib on it's casters and go over the crib and give it a once over and make sure everything is secure and tight.
  18. Crib is ready to use now.

Side rail falls off

Sounds like you may either be missing a piece of the moving side hardware, or have an item installed backwards (the moving side components are left and right orientation). We can email a copy of the assembly instructions to you as well as replace any missing or broken hardware that you may need. Please email your request to us at [email protected], and mention that is for a Kinderkraft Vermont (should be model 710 - check your label for model info), or call us at 800.205.9642 or 800.772.1041 for direct assistance.

Kinderkraft crib

You just take the drop down side off and put the mattress at the lowest setting. We have the same crib and used it for a few months as a toddler bed.

Model 710

Try pushing in the bottom with your shin as you press on the "push" plate. I think it is good that it requires a "2 part move", since my toddler was too smart for his own good:) Hope that helps.
