Have b&d firestorm 14.5 volt cordless, forward and reverse switch broken older model but hate to throw it away. it is stuck in forward andhave two batteries and good charger throw away? or fix ?

Above the trigger there is a black slide switch that will reverse the direction if its in the colckwise direction the richt side is pushed in if counter clockwise the left side is pushed in.

How much did you pay for this drill.? .My point is that i work on drills and hand tools every day. if you were to have your drill repaired you will have ended up with more money in it than you would if you were to buy a new one. We have become a throw away world.My advice to you would be go to home Depot and buy a rigid brand brand drill they are very good drills and it comes with a life time warranty. the battery are also life time.just be sure to send in you warranty info.

This close to father's day you should be able to buy a new drill for about the same as a battery. The 12v would overheat the motor if you ran it for an extended period.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the switch is faulty and that one of the contacts has come loose and is shorting across the reverse contacts. There is little else that can go wrong with a shredder, so in this case try replacing the switch.

Kodak manufactured an "Ektagraphic" model (without a suffix) from 1969 to 1971. Remote focus (given the age of the projector, I wouldn't bother repairing it) is more trouble (and $$) than it's worth. The forward / reverse problem is pretty straightforward: the "link" between the cycle solenoid and the slide change mechanism is probably broken. It is plastic and gets brittle & cracks with age. It will require an authorized warranty repair dealer to fix it.... who knows, maybe they will throw in the remote focus for free !! :)

The forward/ reverse switch is hanging up and the rotation of the drill is switching it, then it changes direction. The switch needs a little TLC and a good cleaning. Blow it out.

look at the back of the brush holder for a tab that the forward/reverse lever locks into, it might be broken not allowing it to shift.
