Try the headphone jack... if there is sound there, then it is either the speaker amplifier or a loose cable. It would be rare for BOTH speakers to fail completely.

I am waiting for YOUR answer... did you get sound in your headphones??? This is first step in troubleshooting...

I've got the same problem with a recently acquired CVP-65. Lights all come on, but no sound from the speakers, as well as the headphone jack. When you put your ear up to the speakers, you can hear a faint hiss.

I have a Yamaha Clavinova clp 360; it no longer turns on.

Paul, inside of the Clavinpva at the rear where the power cable connects to the board. there is a 124 volt 1.25 amp fuse. the old type that is a glass cylinder with silver ends. it's an easy fix and will cost about $3.00 for a pack of four. You have to9 take out all of the screws on the bottom of the piano in order for the top to slide off, but you can do it in about 15 minutes!

It sounds like you have a part overheating and failing, then cooling off and starting again. i would take it into the nearest Yamaha repair facility or contact your local authorized repair to come take a look before it goes out of warranty.

Hi, I hope can help me with this problem because I start to get desperate. I have a Clavinova CVP-85A. The sustain effect is always activated, whether the pedals are plugged in or not. I read that to...

It sounds like the inputs from the pedal switches are "floating", that is, not pulled up or down and they are drifting across the logic threshold. If I could find a schematic I could direct you right to the problem. For now, check the voltage across the switch contacts with a high impedance meter. Also check the resistance to ground of the common of the contacts. Without a schematic I am afraid to have you try things lest I direct you to do something that would cause damage.

Clavinova: no sound from one key only. Rest perform ok.

Likely the key contacts are dirty. These are likely conductive rubber type and have to be cleaned with 99% isoprophyl alcohol.

With the amount of disassembly required to get at the contacts, you best clean them all while you have it apart.

Use 99% (not 70% rubbing alcohol) and Q tips to clean both the circuit board and the rubber "pill" contacts.

Our Yamaha clavinova CLP-115 is buzzing, even with

Without power to the unit no sound should be generated. Make sure there are no other connections.

MAYBE you have a wall transformer behind it that is buzzing. MANY wall transformers develop buzz.

Another source is flourescent lights and even some of the low voltage halogens have noisy transformers in the base.

hi...
Your L/R jacks in the back need to connect to the "line-in" connector on your sound card.
I think the jacks on the Clav are 1/4 inch. Go to Radio shack and ask for an adapter that will take two 1/4 inch plugs/cable and convert it to a 1/8 inch stereo plug.
The Midi connects From (keyboard) To (soundcard)
Cables are available at any music store
