Sounds like an overheating problem.
Are you working in a well-ventilated area or in direct sunlight?
Check, if you can, the temperature of the motor case.
You might have to take a break more often.
This hot summer has stressed a lot of motors and electronics.
When it shuts off you know it is trying to save itself from burnout.

My stihl saw ts410 runs ok but as soon as you come to rev it ,it cuts out can you help

try setting your carb, you will see three holes at the side of the machine nr to the fuel cap. the one at the bottom screw it in as far as it will go then unscrew it 4 turns, the one above it do the same again but unscrew it one and a half turns, if this dont work its possible draging air in from somwere ie, crank seals, inpluse pipe, gaskets. it will need to be presure tested.

Ts 410 won't start

check for spark, check for fuel, if you have both poss pot and piston

Stihl ts 400 has stopped working and sounds rough when pulling the cord

Sounds bad, the only answer here is to pull the cylinder off and check the condition of the internals, if there is a lot of dust behind the filter and into the back of the carb the engine is going to be in need of rebuild.

Hi, My Stihl TS400 with 14"

Racing on a 2 cycle engine is usually a sign of a lean condition. It could be caused by a few different things including a bad crank seal or a torn intake manifold as some are made out of rubber. I would remove the cutter arm then pull the muffler to inspect the cylinder and piston. If they are scored it will be a costly repair.

Where is location of serial number on a 420 stihl cut off saw?

The Serial is engraved into the aluminum right next to the muffler. Look from the top down and you will see it. Good luck

Hi there; my stihl ts 420 does not start easily

replace the decompression valve. also check for carbon buildup on top of piston. usually when a saw stops on its own after 5 min or so.... the piston and jug are scored and need to be replaced.
