Are bolt cutter blades really sharp?

Manual bolt cutters usually have symmetrical V-edge cutting blades.
knife-edge-styles3-uipjjaq4o2dp2d2150uxp5lp-5-5.png
With the sharpening angle in the range of 20-30 degrees.

For comparison, the sharpening angle of the kitchen knife is less than 10 degrees.

With such a pretty blunt edge is impossible to cut your finger. But this is the best option for cutting thick metal rods or cables. Like this:

How to Use a Pipe Cutter?

Pipe cutters are really useful tools that can be used in the house to cut pipes that are made from metal or plastic. You could always try using a saw of some kind but pipe cutters will give you a much straighter edge.

Here are some basic instructions to help you successfully use a pipe cutter.

1. Decide exactly where on the pipe you would like to make a cut.
2. Loosen the handle on the pipe cutter and place it around the pipe.
3. Now tighten the cutter until the blade is in contact with the pipe.
4. Turn the pipe cutter a few turns around the pipe and it will score a line into the pipe.
5. Keep turning the pipe cutter around until you've cut the pipe off.
6. In order to create a nice straight edge inside the cut pipe you need to take the bottom blade out of the pipe cutter.
7. Place it into the cut end of the pipe and turn it around a few times until it's nice and smooth.

Can't seem to find proper gasket and blade assembly to fit Ham Beach Blender #50100 Type B-12. Any suggestions?

Possibly the gasket while it lasts on the cheap at http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-HAMILTON-BEACH-BLENDER-WAVE-ACTION-CUTTER-BLADES-REPLACEMENT-PART-/161615007502?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a1014f0e
Possibly the new wave action blade cutter while it lasts on cheap at http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-HAMILTON-BEACH-BLENDER-WAVE-ACTION-CUTTER-BLADES-REPLACEMENT-PART-/161615007502?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item25a1014f0e. For unused replacements, try typing in your model number at HB's parts site, located by clicking here . Abtecparts.com may also have traditional blades at http://www.abtecparts.com/commerce/search/products/?product_id=02AXHBha010&merchant_id=1933. Besides matching description, I would match the pictures of what you are going for against what you've got--unless you are trying something new--as much as possible. Good luck!

Bogs when blade is engaged

for this to happen you must have a bearing problem either in the gear box or cutter deck that has seized from rust or failed bearings. disconnect the cutter belts and see it t moves forward freely If so then turn each cutter spindle by hand and find which one won't turn or is rough in the movement.

Hi, i have a BSA ECCO16 petrol lawnmower, and I have been looking for a replacement blade for a few months, the blade I have at the moment is a power devil 16'' blade with tails, it is cutting

talk with a mower shop
from your description you have a solid bar attached to the hub on the crankshaft with a cutter blade at either end
the cutter blades should have the rear section turned up to create an air flow to throw the gras out the back
you can replac the single blade with a disc that has 4 blades each turned up at the back and that makes cutting easier and a higher rate of discharge out the abck

Electric hedge trimmer only hums when I turn it on. It accidently went through a metal fence. The blade is slilghtly concaved. The hedge trimmer is a black and decker tr1700. I've taken the cover...

look carefully along the teeth of the cutter blades and see if one tooth has not jumped over the opposite tooth thereby locking the blades together
a bent up edge will do the same effect
you can remove the cutter bar and then the cutter bar cams then run the motor
if it still hums , junk it
