My ge monogram sid by side refrigerator is cooling freezer to correct temp but frig part only getting down to 48 degrees. emptied everything and turned off over night. just put it back on and frig is still warmer than necessary.

Make sure the condenser fan is working and the condenser coils are clean. The temperatures are very hot but this could be because there is no air flowing through the condenser coils,

I need you to pull away from wall and remove cover over compressor and feel compressor for heat. If too hot to hold hand there or if warm or just cool. Tell me what you find. I would like to help you solve this if you like. Sea Breeze

try replacing the thermostat and the defrost timer

Turns out the problem was because we didn't shut the freezer door tightly. The temperature re4set itself in about three hours. All OK and no expense :-)

Turn your thermostat down. If all the rest of the food was even 45 degrees, it would be okay. The vetable and meat drawers will always be colder, so you set the level for the rest of the fridge at what is tolerable.
