My cousin put in a password for my blackberry 8220 he forgot the code and now i have one chance left before the phone is wiped what should i doo??? i need help plzz and thank you

Sorry to tell but at the moment there is no way to overcome that problem other than typing your password in 10 times and having all your data wiped. Once it has been wiped you can then set a new password to it. I hope you have everything backed up!

To perform a hard reset ON your blackberry 8220, follow the steps below:

On the Home screen, click the Options icon.

Click Security Options.

Click General Settings.

Press the Menu key.

Click Wipe Handheld.

only solution is to enter password wrong 10 times, beware by doing this you will loose all your phone contacts messages etc. then it will wipe the handset and ask for new password.

On all the Blackberries i have seen - the password if you get it wrong ten times it just deletes all the personal data on it and resets it to the operator defaults.

so if you havent had a chance to use it much because its locked out, just keep typing the reset password wrong, type blackberry when it tells you too, and keep trying until it says Wiping Handheld.

As a security feature, the BlackBerry device is designed to allow a maximum of 10 attempts by the BlackBerry device user to type the correct password. After the tenth attempt, if the correct password has not been typed, all data is erased from the BlackBerry device in order to discourage its theft or misuse.If you are certain that the password you are typing into the BlackBerry device is correct, please complete the following steps.
1) Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry device.
2) Before the BlackBerry device allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text.
3) Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct
4) If the password is still being rejected by your BlackBerry device as incorrect, connect the BlackBerry device to a computer that has BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed
5) A prompt will appear in Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry device. Type in your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry device
6) If the password you have given is still rejected, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that has software version 4.0 or greater, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator and request that your password be reset for you. I
f you are not on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and have forgotten your password, there is no way to have the password changed without wiping all data from your BlackBerry device.

1. you have to enter the correct password to unlock the phone or keypad .....
   You will have 10 chances to enter the password ...
   if you are done with 10 chances your phone will wipe all the data and will restore to its factory setitngs ....
   Note : You will not be able to take backup. Only way you can unlock the phone is by entering the correct password
   
2. You can also reistall the OS with the help of Blackberry Desktop manager to reset the password.

contact ur carrier and u would be provided with the PUK code ...

If PUK code doesnt work use the pin code of the sim card

if u hace forgot ur password nothing can be done neither u can take backup nor u can retain data in handset. U will have 10 chances at the max to enter correct password, if done with it the handset will be wiped out.

If you are trying to unlock the device with the network which has come bundled with the service provider, Request for the unlock code from the service providerand follow the below given steps:

ONCE U RECIEVE NETWORK UNLOCK CODE FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE IN UR HANDHELD
SELECT OPTIONS IN APPLICATIONS -->SELECT SIM CARD --> PRESS MEPD, PRESS MEP2 (you would not be able to see option to enter these codes, Just enter once you select the sim card option) --> ENTER THE UNLOCK CODE AND PRESS OK TO UNLOCK THE BLACKBERRY DEVICE.

If you are trying to unlock your device but forgot your password. You will have only 10 chances to enter the password at the MAX.

Please note that you will not be able to take backup of the handheld as without password you will not be able to access your blackberry device or with desktop manager either. You have to try entering the password with the rest chances left and you will have to enter password as blackberry which would be poped up once you are done with the number of entries. The handheld will be wiped and which will restore factory settings as good as your new blackberry device.
