I have an LG stove/oven and for some reason every time I press the oven functions the panel says 'lock'. So I can not use the oven at all. How do I unlock this feature?

From a google search the following is copied:

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

Verify that the Whirlpool oven is connected to its power source. The oven may sometimes lock down if experiencing a power surge or similar electrical problems. Additionally, check that a fuse hasn't been blown in your home's fuse box. Some older homes may not have the proper wiring to support a high-powered appliance such as a Whirlpool oven. If you are not sure if your wiring is sufficient, consult a local electrician.

Check to see if the Whirlpool oven's Control Lock has been turned on, a safety mechanism designed to lock the oven and disable its keypad and display controls. A padlock symbol will be displayed in the corner of the Whirlpool oven's front display panel if it is locked. The oven will not unlock itself on its own even if it is disconnected from its power source. To disable, press and hold the "3" button on the keypad for five seconds until the padlock icon disappears.

See if the Whirlpool oven is engaged in its self-cleaning cycle. During the self-cleaning process, the stove will lock its front door and will flash "OVEN LOCKED" on its front display. This is to prevent users from accidentally opening the oven and burning themselves during the high-heat segment in the cleaning process. If you must open the oven, first stop the process by pressing and holding the "OFF/CANCEL" button on the stove's control panel. If the oven remains locked, wait for the internal temperatures to decrease. The locking mechanism is temperature controlled and will not unlock until internal temperatures have cooled.

Contact Whirlpool's service department if your Whirlpool oven remains locked and you cannot troubleshoot it or open it. All Whirlpool self-cleaning ovens are covered for five years after the original purchase date. Call the warranty team for assistance by dialing toll-free (800) 253-1301 in the United States, or (800) 807-6777 in Canada. Be prepared to give the oven's model number and purchase date

Press and hold the START button for 3 seconds. A beep will sound 2 times. The DOOR LOCKED will continue to flash until the oven door has completely unlocked. Hope this helps.

The LOC light indicates the front panel lock is on. This keeps you from starting the oven when cleaning the panel; it also keeps children from turning on the oven. To disable the lock, press and hold Bake and Broil Hi/Lo together for 2+ seconds until SF appears on the display. Then press Self Clean. Then press Start to exit the Special Functions menu.

It's possible to lock the selected functions by keeping the "Key" button pressed . An acoustic

and flashing warning will activate whenever any changes to programmed function are tried to be

made. By activating this function it's possible to switch the Electronic Module off while the

function controls remain active. To deactivate the lock keep the "Key" button pressed a second
time.

If you still have your owners manual look up child lock. If you do not have a manual and the oven door is unlocked I really need a model number.

my stove has the word LOCK when i try to use my oven. please help!!!!!!!!!!

The lock and unlock works well for the 4 - 5 button problem. However the "start" button failure is another problem altogether. I had this problem and found that the ribbon connector attaching the membrane switches to the circuit card (PWB) is where the problem lies. The ribbon cables (two of them) are connected by a pressure contact connector mounted on the PWB. This connection method is less than robust. the fix is to pull the ribbon from the connector, clean it carefully with a paper towel and some alcohol, and reconnect it. To remove the cable the connector has a small flange that pops up about .05 inch whn you pull on the connector. Once it pops up gently pull the ribbon cable out of the connector. To replace it just push the ribbon back into the slot on the top of the connector and snap the flange back down. I strongly suspect this connector will get dirty again every couple years as the oven vent fumes are not properly prevented from partially passing over the PWB right where these connectors are mounted.

A single tone will sound and “CONTROL LOCK” and a picture
of a lock will disappear from the display.

I pressed the lock icon on the panel and held it for a few seconds and the display cleared.
