Are u used the head cleaning option in maintenance. if that also done, i think it is due to dust in cartridge head. take out cartridge and clean with a soft clean cloth. u can use alcohol for cleaning.

My black and white photos will only print out in sepia. I have plenty of ink in the Cartridges of my MP610. Please help?

Two possibilities come to mind:
  1. There is a function in many printers that lets you print in the single colour of your choice. Check every tab and every "advanced..." dialog box you get when you are about to print. Then go to the printer's properties in the control panel and check whether there's anything like that
  2. Many printers let you print black with black ink, OR alternatively make black by mixing the other three colours CMY. Look for that setting in the same places and deactivate it

Lines in photo

Hi

This could be either a leak from colour cartridge or could be because there is still some blue ink in the printer from the last colour item printed?

Lines running horizontally across the printed colour page

Checked ink cartridge's, two had dried out, still had ink in them but the exit apertures were blocked.
So new set of ink cartridges and problem fixed.
Thank you

Printhead is blocked but it's only the Black PGBK cartridge on my Canon MP610 printer. All other colours are working fine. I can't print a letter unless I select a photo paper.

try removing the black cartridge and with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol clean the cartridge where the ink is. Re-insert and clean the heads.

I've a canon MP610 printer and I cant get good colour prints, they are too red. Even when I try to print B/W they turn out brown. I've printer direct from the memory card and the same results. I use canon...

Do you have photo cyan or photo magenta installed? your machine does not use these inks, and will give wrong colors. You need plain magenta and plain cyan. If you are using generic inks, they could have bad colors too.

Ink not dry and significant smudging

there r various modes in the printer in which u have to print .and that u have to select.as you said it is printing properly on ordinary paper.the printer is perfect.the photo paper have less soaking power that ordinary paper.as the photo paper can consume ink but not so quickly as ordinary paper.
u just change that printmode and then check out how it prints.
for example the modes r ----------best mode printing.
better mode printing.
fine mode printing
normal mode printing.
draft mode printing
economy mode printing.
now i f u print in best mode it will consume lots of ink but will take lots of time to print.
if u select normal mode it will consume less ink and print quickly.

u can change the settings in printer properties.
thanks
