Your problem sounds like a defrost or control board. The condser fan sould run full speed when running. It will cost about 90-100 dollars. I hope this helps.

Make sure that the heat exchanger (probably black pipes on the rear) is clean, and that the inside temperature is about 5C. Many refrigerators use skin cooling to stop the casing rusting. If the internal temperature is 5C and the compressor isn't labouring (running all the time) the refrigerator is working as designed. However, if there's any doubt, do consult someone qualified.
Check to see if your hear your evaporator fan is running in your freezer, then check behind the refrigerator and see if your condensor fan is running. Make sure your condensor coils are clean under your fridge. Your symptoms are leaning towards dirty condensor coils. Good luck!

first make sure your freezer,s condensore unit is well clean if its good clean then contect to your service technician for refilling refrigarant .i think refrigarant gas is not good amount in your freezer.or freezer has been leak from somewhere.

Model numbers of Kenmore , starting with 253. are made by Frigidare . The compressor probably has a valve out , either the high-side , or low-side . Probably the low-side valve is bad , therefore , the high-side will pump but not get the freezer as cold as it should be . Both sides have to work . Low-side helps pull the refrigerant thru the system , while the high-side pumps pressure thru the system .
There could be several things causing the frig to be cold but not cold enough. First check thermostat control and air control. Both should be set in the middle setting for normal operation.Next check to see if evaporater fan is running in freezer. It should be running whenever compressor runs and circulates cold air inside frig as well as freezer. Next check if condensor fan motor is running. It blows air over condensor coils to remove heat. Last ,check condensor itself for dirty coils. If they are matted up with hair dust,etc. it will cause poor cooling. you can give thorough cleaning with vacuum cleaner. Hope this helps
Is the fan that moves the air from the freezer to fridge running If there is a switch in cabinet somewhere the freezer door would contract it, with door open push in switch hear the fan both are good. Don't hear fan check evaporator or freezer fan and that switch it may be a duel switch open light closed fan run.
