I replaced my Samsung hln567wx color weheel about a year ago due to the tv making an odd sound. Changing the color wheel did fix the sound but after a year has past the picture is replacing all red with green. Could this be another color wheel issue? Could the wheel just need to cleaned?

I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

Samsung HLR5064W DLP TV, lamp timer light flashing, but there is a loud vibration noise like a fan blade hitting something at the back of the set. I replaced the lamp a couple of years ago, and I think...

Sounds like a bad color wheel----remove lamp---the wheel faces it--look for missing pieces or the wheel shattered---these are known for the wheel making a loud high pitched sound or even a grinding sound if the wheel shatters.

if wheel bad You Tube has video instructions for replacing it---seen several people able to do this themselves in about a hour. Google the model number to ("color wheel") to locate a replacement on the internet.

I have Samsung DLP TV 50 inch HL-P5063W

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

Samsung hlr6167wx A noise like fan winding down started occuring , like spinning whurring sound then the picture went out. I replaced the bulb 3 years ago. Can this be a bad fan and a bad bulb too. All...

if this "whirring" sound was making a vibration on the TV, there is a good chance that the one that needs to be replaced is the color wheel. When the color wheel fails it also triggers the signal for replacing the lamp. This is another common issue with Samsung DLP's.

In order to replace the wheel follow this picture guide:

Im getting a whirring noise in the back of the tv but the picture and sound is still on. picture quality is still good. i dont know if its the fan. color wheel was replaced a year ago. but the tv stopped...

Well that whirring noise is most probable to be the color wheel. Funny thing you replaced it a year ago. But it's most probable that is the issue. You did get the right one, did you? Because with Samsung TVs they have 2 types of color wheels, either gold or silver bearing.

Samsung HL-P5063W makes a whining sound and then goes off

The most common failure in the DLP that makes a whining sound would be the color wheel. They cost about $135 + labor because I wouldn't advise changing it by yourself.

I have a Samsung 61 inch DLP tv. Was very happy with it for the past 3 years. Lamp went out in Feb. Got a new one and replaced. A few weeks ago, it started making a screeching noise. Fans were ok,...

It is b.s. but it's not only samsung that have poor reliability. At least they have some customer service. Some new brands are a nightmare. I would suggest changing the ballast first, and if that doesn't do it, you're probably looking at a dmd board which is very expensive. Only other thing I can say is to try removing and reseating the lamp switch again. Also listen for the color wheel to start up a few seconds after you push power on. Color wheel is started by dmd board, lamp is driven by ballast.
