How to Hook Up a Microphone and Headset to a Computer
In the past, business professionals used telephones to conference with customers or employees, but applications like Skype have made it simple for all users to voice and video chat with one another long-distance. Having a good audio configuration is critical for workers who often need to touch base with clients or other business professionals. Headsets allow users to both listen to and talk to others hands-free, but sometimes the mouthpieces attached to a headset aren't of the best quality. You can connect the speakers on the headset to the computer but hook up a separate microphone to the PC to use instead of the headset's mouthpiece.
1.
Plug the headphone connector on the headset to the green-colored jack on the back of the desktop PC or into the headphone jack on the right or left side of the laptop or netbook.
2.
Connect the microphone to the pink-colored jack on the back of the desktop computer or into the mic jack on the right or left side of the laptop or netbook.
3.
Click "Start ' Control Panel ' Hardware and Sound ' Sound." Select the headset on the Playback tab and then click "Set Default" to use it instead of the computer speakers. Click "OK."

How to connect SONY DYNAMIC MICROPHONE F-V40 to JBL EON 515 15IN PWRD SPKR yahoo

Several ways. Easiest way is to just hook up mic to speaker via XLR and make sure on jbl speaker switch is set to Mic not Line. ( for volume ). Ideally you would hook mic to a console ( mixer ) and come out of mixers main out (l/r) to 2 separate jbl speakers ( being powered no amp is necessary ) for stereo!

How do I hook to dell

Basically, these speakers come with universal PL plugs, which means, you can connect them to any music source that has a headphones jack (just like an iPod, iPhone, walkman, discern etc...) you should have same phone jack in your DELL - use the green plug to the OUT jack (should have a little marking of an arrow out or little icon of headphones) the pink plug is for microphone.

I have a compaq presario sr1214nx. The front has 3 audio hookups in blue pink and green. Where do i hook my speakers to?

The green is usually the audio out (stereo), connect the speakers to this.
The other two will be for microphone in (pink) and blue aux in (stereo).
If you look closely at the connectors you should see symbols for these connections.

HOW DO I HOOK THIS LOGITECH TO MY COMPUTER

Look on the back of your computer for GREEN and PINK and BLUE sockets.

PINK - plug a microphone into this socket.
BLUE -- plug an audio-device (CD-player, iPod, cassette deck) into this "audio-in" port
GREEN - plug your speakers into this "audio-out" port.

Connect the speakers to an AC power-outlet.

I cannot get sound from my speakers. There is one prong on my right hand speaker but I do not know where to hook it.

Usually, the "line-out" from your computer's sound-card is a "stereo" output, but the cable only runs to one speaker.

Be sure to connect to "line-out" or "speaker-out",
not to "line-in" nor to "microphone-in".

A separate cable runs from that one speaker to the other speaker, using that single wire that you mentioned.

Hooking up speakers.

Speakers do not normally connect to a microphone jack.

But if it has a headphone jack usually has a symbol like one of these.

http://symboldisco.wordpress.com/2009/02/

Then you could use that as the output to your speakers.

also if it has phono outputs on the back similar to these

http://www.smcelectronics.com/AUDCONN42.JPG

and they are marked nearby as OUTPUT you can also use those

Quality of sound will vary depending on the speaker quality itself.

if you have surround and any of the outputs as shown then with a little care it is still possible to hook up to that.

Don't try to connect INPUT sockets to speaker it will just not work.

You didn't give a specific model so I have only been able to give a generic answer.

Don't know how to hook them up

What a lovely daughter, how very nice of her,

here goes....straight for Mr. Koss

To Operate with AC Adapter
  1. Open battery compartment located at the back of both speakers and remove wires.
  2. Replace battery covers.
  3. Connect DUAL PLUG CONNECTOR on left speaker to right speaker at connection marked "TO LEFT SPEAKER."
  4. Connect remaining wire with 3.5mm plug to headphone jack on your audio source.
  5. Connect AC adapter (not included) to back of left speaker at connector marked "DC 6V." Plug remaining end of AC adapter into wall outlet. Be sure your AC adapter is built with the center pin as ("-") negative. Connect remaining wire with 3.5mm plug to the headphone jack on your audio source.
  6. Turn ON/OFF switch at back of right speaker to "ON."
  7. Set "INPUT SELECTOR" switch to audio source.
  8. Turn on audio source
  9. Adjust sound in the following ways: Turn volume control to desired level; push Bass Boost button located on right speaker to "ON" for added bass; push Treble Boost button on right speaker to "ON" for added treble
  10. Operating a microphone through your speakers require an additional 3.5mm plug to 3.5mm plug cable (included). Connect cable with 3.5mm straight plug to right speaker at input marked "MIC" on back of speaker. Plug the remaining 3.5mm L--plug into the mic input on audio source. Connect your microphone to the front of your speakers at "MIC" input (microphone not included)

Speakers

Hello vickiesbrown,

Yes you can, locate the external speaker jacks and plug your speaker plug into the jack. They are usually color coded.
Green (Speaker out) Pink (Microphone In) Blue (audio in),

You will be using the Green stereo jack to connect to your speakers.

I hope this helps,
