Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
TRY THIS FIRST, PLEASE!

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

My 7kg Electrolux front load washer keeps stopping from between 1 to 14 minutes before it finishes. I have to keep coming in to press restart button. It keeps saying ERR 10. What does this mean?

Family alarm code E10 means difficulty in filling during wash phase or water leakage.

Could be:

E11 - Tap closed or water pressure too low; Drain tube improperly positioned; Water fill solenoid valve is faulty; Leaks from water circuit on pressure switch; Pressure switch faulty; Wiring faulty; PCB faulty.

E13 - Drain tube improperly positioned; Water pressure too low;
Water fill solenoid valve is faulty; Water circuit on pressure switch is leaking/clogged; Pressure switch faulty.

My washing machine drains water while in wash mode.

Hi, take a look at this video. You problem is probably a drain valve that is not closing completely. It could be due to debris getting stuck in it or the valve itself is failing. This video will help you figure out what it is and how to fix it.

When the washer is off, why does the tub fill with water?

This is a very concerning problem. Until repairs have been made it is imperative that the inlet valves to the machine are closed where the hoses connect to the wall after every use.

The only way that water can enter the tub when the unit is off is if the inlet water solenoids is defective. Some owners have treated the water with a mineral build up solution with reported success. I recommend replacing when the valve is not closing reliability after each use.

The best solution is to purchase OEM original equipment solenoid valve and replace. If the hoses are old replace them also.

If this is an upstairs washer it is always a good practice to close the water inlet valves when washer is not in use.

How do I fix water not staying in the wash tub of Twin tub, LG WP 750R?

If your drain is not high enough the water will siphon out while filling. Check your owner's manual for correct height, usually about 39 inches from ground

Fault-F13 What does it means?

Hotpoint Washing Machines and Washer Dryers
  • F10 - No cold fill. Check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
  • F11 - No hot fill. The ambient temperature is likely to be below freezing possibly due to the pipes being frozen. Also check that the taps are on or if the drain hoses are kinked.
  • F12 - No mixed fill. It is likely that the water is not turned on at the taps.
  • F13 - Check the water supply, inlet valve and hot and cold hose connections.
  • F14 - A fault with the water heating has occurred. Book a washing machine repair
  • F15 - Water is not being pumped out and a flood condition could occur. Check that the drainage hose is raised to the recommended minimum height and that the pipe is not blocked.
  • F16 - Extremely high water level Disconnect or turn off the water supply and ensure that the water level does not rise any more. Then Book a washing machine repair
  • F17 - Door not closed properly. Close door firmly at the 3 o'clock position.
  • F20/1 - The thermistor resistance has drifted or the temperature scanning sequence is incorrect. The ambient temperature could be below freezing. Book a washing machine repair.
  • F30/31 - A motor drive problem has occurred. Try running the programme again. If the problem persists book a service engineer.
  • F40 - Water below protection level during a heat step. Book a washing machine repair.
  • F41 - Water level detect sequence incorrect. Book a washing machine repair.
  • F50/51 - Customer language and wash programme have not been saved. The system will run with default conditions (1000rpm max and English language). Book a washing machine repair to re-programme your product.
The code f-13 refers to the water valve. Check it for any obstructuions in the screen and if your thinking it is bad you can always swap the hot and cold lines and change the settings to get the temperature you want and that will tell you if one of the valves is not working. Say if you want cold but no cold is coming into the waher, swap the cold and hot lines and call for hot water, if cold comes in then, then you will know that the cold valve is bad. If neither valve is working then replace the assembly

My machine keeps filling and draining. I've had

Hi.

If the machine keeps filling and draining, then there is overflow detected. Rather than going for the control board you should have checked inlet, drain system and pressure switch.

Check the drain hose height setting. If hose is not well placed you get water back inside the tub. Do a test with drain hose down in a bucket. Check the drain pump filter. Access filter housing and remove blockage if any. If front load machines he pump filter is accessed using a panel located at the bottom in front side of the appliance. With top loader you access the pump from underneath or from the back.

Check if the inlet valve or the hose is allowing water inside the appliance because of an internal leak. This will result in overflow being detected.

Check the pressure switch. This is the device that detects water level.
The pressure switch is near to the control panel . It is a round shaped plastic part that is connected to wires and to a long thin rubber hose going inside the tub. Clean the hose or replace the pressure switch.

Regards.

Hi I have a problem with my Bosch SHU43CO6UC/22 dishwasher. using "power scrub plus" and "regular" cycles it will continue to fill and overflow the door, after the cycle has run even...

The bosch dishwashers use a fill valve that is attatched to the inlet hose. yours is stuck in the open position. this usually happens when you have hard water, as the minerals build up on the sealing surface of the water valve. there is no easy fix. the fill hose will have to be replaced. It requires removing the machine, removing the bottom pan, and changing the hose connections.

the valve uses water pressure to stay closed. if the water pressure is very low coming in, it may not be enough to close the valve. there is a filter screen between the fill hose, and where it connects to your water valve. try cleaning the filter out and see if that makes a difference. If not, you will have to get the hose changed.

Repair of samsung (karisma ) washing machine

Hi,

Water draining is indicative that the drain valve is left open allowing water to escape even during regular/wash cycle and not only on drain/wash cycle completion. this could be brought about by:
1. laundry material, debris, safety pin, clips or some other foreign material has lodged itself prohibiting the drain valve in closing properly; or
2. the mechanism (solenoid) closing the valve is jammed in the open position.

Corrective measure calls for inspection and possibly cleaning or solenoid/control mechanism repair or replacement. Often these can be found at the bottom or near bottom of the machine below the tub.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
