My mower wont start

If it has been sitting for a year ... and you did not change or stabilize the gasoline ... then get some fresh gasoline and try it again. The light ends of the gasoline which help on initial ignition have vaporized off over the last 12 months. No amount of cranking will start it. Get fresh gas.

Gentron 10,000 generator will not start.

Spray starting fluid into the engine air intake and see if that starts it, if that does then you have dried fuel clogging up the works.

My 2001 Lincoln Continental has been sitting for over two years, It did start for about a minute but it wont start again. what can I do

BATTERY DEAD MORE LIKELY.CAR BEEN SITTING FOR 2 YEARS GAS IN FUEL TANK WEAK FULL OF WATER, YOU NEED TO REMOVE DRAIN OUT OLD FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. YOU NEED ADD NEW FUEL IN FUEL TANK,CHANGE FUEL FILTER, IF CAR BEEN SITTING FOR TWO YEARS.I WOULD REMOVE SPARK PLUGS ONE AT A TIME REMOVE EACH SPARK PLUG SQUIRT FEW DROPS OF OIL INTO CYLINDER THEN REINSTALL SPARK PLUG, REASON I SAY TO DO THIS PROCEDURE IT HELP PISTON RINGS SEAL UP ENOUGH TO BUILD UP COMPRESSION SO YOU CAN START THE ENGINE WHERE IT BEEN SITTING TOO LONG.YOU NEED CHANGE ANTIFREEZE AND THERMOSTAT.REPLACE RADIATOR HOSES TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE,REPLACE AIR FILTER.

Honda eb3800x will not start. I started and ran it in June 2010 with no problem. Will not start today 9/2/2010. Checked oil, checked spark plug, drained all gas and put new gas. Carb getting fuel....

the worst thing for generator and compressors are to sit up. when you do sit them up put stabil in the gas. run it and then run the gas out of the carburator. now, make sure the gas in the tank is good and has no water or trash. check the fuel line that it is in good conditon and not plugged. pull the carberator and clean varnish out and clean jets. soak it over nite in varsol or parts cleaner. check to see if you have a low oil shut off. oil level must be correct. check your exhaust to make sure it isn't plugged. some have a little screen that get coated with carbon and won't let it exhaust.( fuel in, spark, exhaust out)

11 hp 5700 watt generator wont fire

If you could not start in spite of oil and gas change, checked gas supply, spark plug, ignition cables and coils (magnetos) and so on whitout success, then try this:
Your generator has a low oil level protection, which stops the ignition of the motor.
After "a couple of years" sitting without or with old oil, the level switch may have got lazy or stuck down.
If your oil level seems to be good, while measured, find the oil switch and try to shorten or disconnect it.
If you succeed in running the generator change or repair the oil switch.

I hope that this will be helpful, because I don't have your device in front of me, but some people rank such an answer with 2 thumbs, which means useless. Better dont rank.

Fuel injectors not opening on my 5.0 Ford f150

If it ran before sitting 2 years it can run again ok...but...
if it will not now start as you say then it is only one or two things...it is not getting gas into the engine or the plugs are not getting spark correctly. Take one of the plugs out or use one of the old ones and connect to one of the wires with the plug held against ground (sheet metal or engine metal) while someone cranks the engine. You should see spark jump across the plug. If you get spark then you know that is ok. Since you replaced the distributor does that mean you took the distributor completely out of the engine. If so then you probably have the timing off and you may need to rotate the distributor a few degrees one way or the other to get it to run. Also recheck your plug wires to make sure that you have the correct order of the connections from the distributor to each plug. You said you sprayed starter fluid in the throat. That should make the engine try to start if you are getting spark ok. If it trys to start and actually starts running ok but then quickly dies then you know you are getting power to the plugs ok but that the gas is not continuing to flow into the engine so that is the thing to concentrate on. Go rest, have a beer, or watch TV or something for 1/2 hour to let things normalize on the truck and any flooded gas seep away. Then squirt some more starter in the throat, get in the truck stomp the pedal maybe 4 or 5 times. Then hold the gas pedal to the floor...do not let up on it or pump it...and crank the engine. It should sputter, jump and finally run. If not you can try this procedure maybe 3 more times. By then if it will not run then you probably have flooded it. So then do not pump the pedal at all but each time you try to start it merely slowly push the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there while you crank. That will relieve any flooding and hopefully it will start and run. If your timing is off though from the work you did on the distributor you may need to get that set close to the correct position before it will run well. I guarantee that if it ran 2 years before then it will run now. Also, take a look at the air intake filter...mud dobber wasps like to get in there and build nests. Try leving the air filter completely out until you get the engine started and running ok. While you are at it, look carefully at some of the wiring in the engine compartment...the small wiring stuff that goes to the distributor etc. I have seen where mice get hungry in the winter and actually chew off the insulation and even cut the wire...so look around...sounds silly but I have seen where I had to splice wires and recoat some with insulation where the mice have done their thing.

1984 Rabit loses power while going up an incline

you need to check the accumulator and make sure you are getting the correct fuel line psi. Also if it sat a long time with old gas in it it could just be old gas accumulation and deposits. get a good fuel line and injector cleaner one that dosn't say STP and cost's more than $15. One that has to be done threw the fuel line or injector ram. You can try using seafoam, its seams to work pretty good in this type of situation just look it up on UTube.

good luck

How two start a mini cooper one after two years?

Change the oil and oil filter. Make sure you allow plenty of time for all of the old oil to drain.

Drain the gas tank, flush the fuel lines, or you could just add some Water Remover and Antifreeze to your fuel system to absorb any built up condensation and fill up with fresh gas.

Check Radiator fluid, if it's discolored drain and replace .

Make sure your tires have air to the appropriate pressure. Drive slowly for the first few miles until the tires heat up and any flat spots work out.

If you have taken your battery out prior to storage, reconnect the battery. If the battery was left in the car, and you have had it stored for more than a year, you will need to replace the battery.

Remove the spark plugs. If your car has been sitting in storage for over 3 months, with the spark plugs removed, add a little Marvel Mystery Oil to help lubricate the cylinders.

With the spark plugs still out, turn the engine over a few times to get the oil working through the car. Keep cranking the engine until the oil pressure reads normal and the oil pressure light has gone off.

Replace the spark plugs and their leads in the correct order.

Start the car and let it idle and warm up for a few minutes.

Take the car for a short 10 to 20 mile trip, note of any odd sounds. When the car is back in the garage, look for any leaks and check all fluid levels again.
