My sony mp3 walkman NW-E107 used to be able to connect to Sonicstage just fine until SonicStage was accidentally deleted I uninstalled all components related to Sonicstage and now ( 2 weeks later ) tried to reinstall Sonicstage however when i connect my mp3, sonicstage says something about the connection from my mp3 to my Windows Vista being unstable.. I've tried restarting the pc, I've tried uninstalling and installing again, as well as connecting the mp3 to a different usb port.. any other ideas?

SOURCE: i dont tranfer music to NW-E003

If you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SonicStage#Alternatives there are a few unofficial alternatives to using sonicstage. I have yet to try them but will be doing so soon. Sonicstage just seems extremely slow anyways.

SOURCE: problem with sonicstage software

Try downloading the newest version of SonicStage from the website.
Select your Model and click the blue button.
That one supports Vista.

How do i format my sony mp3player walkman

You have to work from Sonicstage.
Follow these steps:

Install Sonicstage (probably you've already done that)

After installing, connect the player to your computer and select 'format' from the menu (This will remove all data from the player, so you might want to make a backup).
Now transfer your music files to the player using sonicstage.

If you don't transfer them using sonicstage, the player data will get corrupt and tell you there is no data.

Format Error

I hade just that prob. "format error" used to display. I did this:
1. dwl sonicStage (free)
2.- in the walkman went to menu/initialize/format
then displayed a confirmation screen, I confirmed
it displayed "formating...... COMPLETE"
3.- THEN plugged into the PC and transfered songs with Sonic
and it worked!

not a solution, but have since found that using all the same hardware I can connect successfully to other pc's that have sonicstage installed. Sony suggested replacing the cable.

Sony NW A3000 Walkman

Follow these steps- - Open the Sony Walkman from "My Computer". - Open the folder inside, then delete all the "DAT" files. - Open the second foler which is inside the first foler and delete all these files. - Close that and then open up "SonicStage" - Now delete all the files from your library, but, DO NOT delete them from your computer. - Now import all the songs again and it should pick up the device and start to transfer with no problems. I have done this with my Sony Walkman and it now works. If you experiance more problems contact me at [email protected]
