I am working with WINDOWS PRO SP3 and since many years I am working with the EPSON Perfection 1200 scanner. For some reason the program does not work anymore . With my original Software CD-ROM I tried to reinstall it but it is without success. My CD-ROM is dated 1998 and the program was originally installed within windows NT. Could you help me please

    The answer is not relevant to my problem.
    I repeat the description of my installation problem :
    1. Notice that I am in th OS windows XP SP3
    2. When I try to install epson10245 running the setup.exe file I come to a microsoft screen telling
    Epson perfection 1200 n'a pas été validé lors du test permettant d'obtenir le logo Windows.
    Continuer l'installation de ce logiciel peut déstabiliser votre matériel...








    The same I got from my CD. That is the problem you must solve. I tried to bypass it (ignoring this message) but the installation was NOT sucessful.
    Please solve THIS problem. Going to the microsoft site did not give me any clue as to the solution.

    Thanks to the people from EPSON (I have contacted on their site web) who have given me a detailed procedure for the installation and the way to avoid the proiblem, I have succeded to overcome the problem. I am disappointed by the inaccuracy of your suggestions.

1,Download and install the latest driver for EPSON Perfection 1200.(TWAIN Driver v5.53A)> http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/
Note:The scanner must be disconnected from computer during the installation of this driver.
2.Next download and install Epson Scan! II 32 Utility v2.35E

Without the scanner turned on, I downloaded the file, unziped it
and extracted the files. I then ran the .exe
After that I turned on the scanner and let Win 7 install the device.
Simple as pie

Its working perfectly with Epson 2400U drivers.
  • Download and install the Perfection 2400U drivers from Epson USA, version 3.04A http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...rm=OSF_W_10-64
  • Connect and turn on your scanner
  • Run Device Manager
  • The Perfection 1200U will be shown under under Other Devices
  • Select Update Driver
  • Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software"
  • Choose 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
  • UNCHECK the 'Show compatible hardware'
  • Click on 'Epson' in the Manufacturer box, and the scroll down through model until you find "Epson Perfection 2400', and choose that, and press Next
  • Ignore the 'Update Driver warning - choose 'Yes'; to continue to install.
  • The Perfection 2400 will now be shown in Device Manager. Note that the Perfection 1200 will still be shown under Devices & Printers
  • Run Epson Scan and test the scanner. You may need to log out and log in again for program to work

Epson perfection 1200 photo scanner won't work now I have changed to Windows 7. I cannot find any software update to help.
Okay, after careful investigation I have found that your scanner is not windows 7 complaint there fore there is no driver solution for this scanner. If you read below the last operating system this worked on was NT

Now if you have windows ultimate you can run a virtual machine on this and hopes it will work, Also a dual boot will be a solution as well. Otherwise its not compatable.

I have a 2580 Epson Scanner and for some reason can't work with my Mac Pro, Can you please help me?
hi there, it may be that Epson hasn't developed drivers compatible with your system. My suggestion is to try it on another computer that has windows and see if it works. If so, go on Safari and type in Epson Perfection 2400 Photo Flatbed scanner drivers and see what comes up on Epson's website.

I want to upgrade my Epson Perfection 1200 Photo flatbed scanner so I can use it in Windows XP
Are you talking normal XP or something more specialist...If normal just download the twain driver from the epson site. I cannot get the copy utility to work but the twain give you the functionality to scan. Following the other threads here I have been able to get this scanner two work even better on 64bit Vista

Epson Perfection V200 Photo scanner
You have tired all the computery things seemingly
but it is work trying some more
Remove all software.- using the Epson Uninstall routine .
and just to be sure go to Programs.Epson and maually delte all you can find.
Make sure that when you re install- the computer is off line and the ant virus program is disabled.
That should sort the problem Computer wise.
When you go to operate the scanner- does it then go through the motions of Scanning but no light - is that it?
If it is - there is nothing for it but to replace ther scanner
To bad about the warranty card but if you have the sales recieipt
And purchased less than a year ago - the the seller has a responsability [UK wise any way]
But a pleading message toi Epson may surprise you too.

Epson scanner perfection 1200u photo
The driver listed on the web for 2K is compatible with XP.

1) Go to the website http://support.epson.com
2) Under the SCANNERS heading select Epson Perfection Series and then your scanner model.
3) Under the Drivers & Downloads section select Windows. Download the most current driver for your Windows operating system.
4) Follow prompts through survey and license agreement. Choose to SAVE this file to your DESKTOP.
5) When the download is complete, double-click on the Epson icon on the desktop. This will automatically extract the files and begin the SETUP.
6) Follow the prompts to install the scanner, and click on FINISH when prompted.
7) At this point reconnect the scanner to the computer.
8) You will see an ADD NEW HARDWARE WIZARD. Make sure INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AUTOMATICALLY (Recommended) is checked and click NEXT.
9) If a message appears indicating THE SCANNER HAS NOT PASSED WINDOWS LOGO TESTING, click CONTINUE ANYWAY. Then click FINISH.
10) Your scanner is now installed. Restart your computer before testing.
