My daughter lock the tv by pressing on the remote control....we lost the user manual....we don't know its model type but these are the only information we've got at the back of the television CT - T29SA2A with serial number 2029700034 it's 29" and a flat TV and look like this AKAI CTS2550 but I'm not really sure about it. I have a very similar problem. Suddenly, any program that is more than PG, I get a black screen saying "excessive rating" in bright red letters. I can't begin to explain what happened. I called my cable company and it was determined that the parental block was accidentally activated on the TV set. It is an AKAI CTS2550 25". Can you help me unlock it. Possibly, you will need an original remote to disable or turn off this feature. And some child lock can be accessible through neither MENU of your tv or remote. Check CHILD LOCK option to remove it. If it is a screen lock type of CHILD LOCK feature of tv (a Blue Background display a LOCK icon) and your original remote is lost, try a universal remote for you to possibly unlock it. Yes,ur tv does require a tv orginal remote will help u to used,but the child lock mode must have a secret codes to enter it.Can't turn tv on,must have the tv original remote to enter child lock secret codes though.Tries Goodmans website look for there 1-800.. call ask their customer service they can help to erase the child lock secrect password,if u don't know it.Try website Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote.
CHILD LOCK
The Child Lock feature prevents unauthorized viewing of the TV. To activate, press and hold the F key, and
then press MUTE. You should see a key symbol appear on the screen. This will lock out all remote functions
(except for Standby). To unlock the TV, press and hold the F key and press MUTE. This will unlock the TV.
Please note that the only way to activate or deactivate the Child Lock feature is via remote control - please
insure that it is stored securely.
i found out on line in the owners manual that if u still have a remote control that came with the tv, u press the tv/av button and enter button at the same time to disable the child lock. New problem: u can't do it with a universal remote, even if its programmed to a magnavox tv. I called the 800 # to buy a remote control and the rep told me that it cost $50, not including the shipping and handling. so my husband put the tv in the car, brought an extension cord and took it to a local tv repairman who was kind enough to use his remote to remove the child lock for us. finally someone who is helpful for free. thanks to all the nice people out there!
I also have a km0544 tv and the child lock is on however I lost the reote control for it some time ago when re-locating house. Do you have suggestions?.- Steve
Guys it's really easy just press on-off and tv at the same time, until de on-off botton turns on. Point the Remote at the TV DVD or SAt and press it 3 sec max. until the tv turns off. then press the stop button and that's it...
To unlock the Panel Lock,
Parent Lock, or Child Lock, follow these steps:
Turn on your TV.
On the remote, press
the Menu button. The Set-Up
Menu appears.
Scroll to the Key
Lock function and set
function to Off.
Press the Exit button to exit.
Note: If you don't have a remote, you may
be able to do the same thing by pressing the Menu button on the front or side
panel of your TV and using the volume or channel up and down buttons on the
TV to scroll to the Key Lock function and set it to Off.

page 15 towards the bottom - unfortunately you can only remove the child lock with the remote.
If you look on the remote (possibly inside the battery compartment) it should have a model number - sorry i had no luck yet finding it out online - let us know that, and we can try and source a new remote for you.
