Hello, welcome to FixYa. I understand by reading your post which indicates it is a Maytag dishwasher you appear to have a concern with, however there does not appear to be any error code. Sounds like a bad membrane or control. Before declaring that is the case, you can try this...Press in sequence, Hi temp wash-Heat dry, Hi temp wash-Heat dry, Hi temp wash-Heat dry. That should initiate a short test cycle. I'll watch for your reply and try and help going forward. Thank you. Regards, Macmarkus :)
Hello again,
I should add I'd suggext you remove the toe panel and see if there is a "tech sheet" and wiring diagram. If so it will usually have instructions on how to possible "reset" the control.
Also aside from the short test, To perform the extended diagnostic, enter press these buttons in sequence...
**HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL**
You can expect a similar result, it will operate for 10-15 minutes and stop. It may or may not show a "flashing LED's" when complete. If so, reply with the flashing LED and we can move forward with possible remedy.
Let me know when this diagnostic is complete and if the situation remains the same we can go forward from there.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
Hello again,
Thank you for replying, I'm glad you managed to locate the tech sheet. Unfortunate to hear the panel would not activate upon the test command.
If that is the case (varifying the keypad/touchpad will not respond to commands) The part you will need is the membrane as the unresponsive test illustrates. (the part number varies depending on colour so double check with your model number when ordering)
This is available at "repairclinic.com" or "searspartsdirect.com" to name a couple. It is fairly straight forward to replace and plugs into the control.
Let me know if you need further assistance going forward, l'll certainly help in any manner I can.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
Hi Michael,
In the parts illustration (I included the link) that describe it as the control panel though in the trade it is typically known as the membrane/touch pad.

The control board is the "main control" of the unit which everything connects to essentially. The control panel is as shown here...
The number will change depending on the colour, so double check with your specific model number.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
You can reset it by pressing two buttons in sequence 3-4 times, to reset your dishwasher press these buttons in sequence:
Normal wash-Air dry-Normal wash-Air dry
If the issue remains then test the thermal fuse on the control board and if it has continuity then replace the board, if it tests open then replacing the fuse is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Your answer was to push normal wash /air dry at same time , and do this 4 times. I do not have a air dry button. Buttons on my machine from left to right are as follows, heavy wash, normal wash, light wash, rinse only, auto clean, start cancel, delay 2 4 6, heated dry, sanitize, hi temp wash. I noticed now that only buttons that light up when pushed are heavy wash, auto clean, heated dry and sanitize. Nothing else lights up.
I took toe kick off and did field service test. Field service test is push heated dry button 6 times then push start button. I did this nothing happened. no lights nothing.
what you call a membrane , is that the control board
