Have you tried to reset the radio?

try disconnecting power to the radio for a while. you can do that by disconnecting the battery.

You have to check the radio harness and see if the connections are correct or if you have a grounding problem or some short. Check the face plate for any damage to the connectors were it meets the main deck were the radio face sits in.

you will need to use and thin but stiff piece of metal. You will need to remove the bezel around the radio, If the radio is a detachable face, you will also have to detach the face. Insert the the pieces of metal, about 3 inches long, on the sides of the radio. You will only have about a half inch sticking out. You will need to then carefully pry the radio out towards you. It will come out slowly and carefully. Good Luck.

If you try a known good speaker on each of the four outputs of the stereo and you get nothing from any of the outputs, the outputs in the stereo is bad.

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard

.Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.

The radio code is available from any Volvo dealership if you don't have the printed code # on the card that came with the car's owner manual. You will need to first obtain the serial number from the sticker on the bottom of the radio. Depending on year and model of your car, this can be obtained by yourself or have the dealer do it. Another option is that most car stereo shops will charge a small fee to remove and re-install your radio while getting the serial number for you. Take this number to the car dealer and they will give you the radio code. Input this and you're all set!

all radios like your has two power inlets one is battery and the other is Acc or Ing. The battery line keeps power in the radio after you turn off your car both lines must work for the radio to turn on it sounds like a resister burn out thats why your face plate was warm.
