Behringer Sx2442fx Eurodesk 24channel Mixer New Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 25, 2011

My band plugs into the input channels on the SX2442FX mixer, which we then hook up to the PMP2000 to use as a PA. Since the SX2442FX is not a "Powered" Mixer, I figured that we should be going from the MAIN OUT 1/4" TRS connectors to the Stereo Line inputs on the PMP2000. My friend thinks we should connect to the left and right Power Amp Inputs. That doesn't make sense to me, since the SX2442FX is not technically a Power Amp. Am I right, or is my friend right? Thanks.

Either way will work, however your friend's method probably would be slightly better since it goes through less stages within the PMP2000. The "left and right power amp inputs" are the INPUTS to the power amp in the PMP2000 and hence are the best places to connect the mixer if using the PMP2000 as only a power amp. Note doing this will LIKELY disconnect any other input to the PMP2000 from the power amps in it... that is all the preamps in the PMP2000. DO USE TRS cables!!! and power both units from the same receptacle to avoid ground bounce.

    Hi,
    Just a thought.
You can take your "dry" signal from the mixer , plug it into the 7/8 channel and use the 2000 for "final mix" control. At times the acoustics of the room produce "counterproductive sound wave interference" (Sound waves bouncing off each other, rather than flowing).
Rather than re-mixing on the big board, the 2000 offers a lot of "tweaking room".
A bit more mid, a touch more low end, crisp up the high end on the "over all" final mix of the whole band.
    Nothing like pure good sound.
    Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!
    Wayne

I have a Behringer sx2442fx mixer, and when i try to use my aux 1 and 2 channels for monitors it doesn't seem to be working. I sthere a chance that i have a button or something on the board thtas p

Make sure that you have enable the main monitor volume at the end of the mixer. They are labeled AUX1 and AUX2 as well located under the last channel of the mixer. If those are on 0 your monitors won't work

I. Have a profx12. I am running just into laptop.i want to use my jvc receiver to playback recording instead of listening through headphones. Is this possible.

it should be if you hook something up to an input channel like w the band i was in i had to hook my turntables up to a microphone jack on an open channel . so yeah if u plug lets say a cd player plug the output of that into the input of the mackie and make sure you have your speakers in the output of mackie all set up and it should work no problem. None of the channels work. Most of the LED lights work. Im going thru the beringer mixer for power but using another mixer.

If you plug into the PA input or inserts of this unit, that DISCONNECTS all the mixing channels within this unit and none in this unit will work. That is how it is supposed to work.

If you wish to use another mixer as well as the channels in this, I suggest you run the other mixer into one of the stereo channel inputs OR the CD inputs, although the CD are NOT balanced inouts and subject to higher noise level.

I am keyboard player and i want hook up an equalizer to the system where do i hook it up to

If you're only using the keyboard, connect the keyboard output to the EQ input, and EQ output to your amp.

If you have multiple instruments and a mixer, run mixer output to EQ input, EQ output to amp.

More info, let me know.
