I would ask if anything happened to the Laptop prior to this occurring, something like being dropped or getting wet?
It sounds to me like something is loose. The memory DIMMs or an internal connector, or maybe the power connector.
If the power connector is broken, your battery will not charge, and once the battery is discharged you would see a quick flash of the power lights.
Try doing this:
1. Remove the battery and unplug the computer.
2. While there is no power connected, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3. Plug the computer back in, but don't insert the battery yet
4. See if it will turn on now, and if it does, insert the battery again.
Sometimes this works to drain some residual power that is still inside the machine. I've done this on a couple of machines and it has resulted in them starting up fine. If this doesn't work, you may have a more serious problem and need to have it looked at by a technician.
Try what I said. It's not letting me post a full explanation of why to do it though
The flashing lights are a BIOS operation that indicates an invalid power supply.
So when a battery is in use and the system is not being powered correctly, the lights will flash and the computer will be unresponsive.
Try what I recommended: Unplug it from the wall and remove the battery, hold in the power button for 30 seconds to clear the RAM, and then plug it back in without the battery to see if it works.
Sorry I had to break it up like that, but for some reason it wouldn't let me post one of the sentences I typed and I couldn't figure out which word was blocking me.
I did try that a few times and got nothing. What you said here makes sense though. I think that something is wrong with the plug in port. It feels loose and wiggly. Thanks for your help. I'm going to take it in and have it checked out. Thanks.

Push the power switch up as far as it will go and see if the blue ring on the front of the player lights up.
The Fuze's power button is not a traditional button but a slider, so if you did not push the slider up all the way, this may be the only reason it was not powering on.
Reset the Fuze by pushing up on the power switch and holding it in the up position for 10 seconds.
Try to power on the Fuze again after it has fully rebooted.
Connect the Fuze's USB cord from the Fuze to a USB port on your computer.
You should see a yellow charging light illuminate and the battery symbol blinking on the Fuze's main display.
Once the battery stops flashing, the Fuze is fully charged and you can try to power it on again.
hope this helps

the flash is a sort of 1 second on, 1 off that doesn't stop until I disconnect all power. If i don't try to turn it on, the power cord light is on whether the cord is plugged in or not. Nothing happened to it. I used it, closed the top, ran to pick up my wife, cleaned a bit, and tried to open it up again and it was doing this...
