Hi and wleome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Pull off the small cover on the OUTSIDE of the end bell that covers the bearing and the brushes. Using a meter on resistance scale of R X 100 or R x 1000 probe the brushes and see if you read any resistance You should see a reading of much less than 1000 ohms that would be the rotor winding resistance. If you do not have resistance then remove the brushes and check the condition and LENGHT of the brushes. The brushes should be no less than 3/8" long. If you can get your test leads into the brush holes probe the slip rings and read the rotor resistance. You must read resistance under 500 Ohms. No resistance or can not reach the slip rings remove the end bell and test rotor resistance again but probing the 2 slip rings.

Most of the time the brushes wear out or break off when a generator just suddenly stops working.

Reinstall the end bell and read for a DC voltage reading of 3 - 9 volts across the brushes after you know the brushes are in good working order. No voltage then the AVR has failed. If you have voltage then the final tests would be continuity checks of the diode and capacitor in the end bell and finally the stator windings. The dilde will ony read resistance in ONE direction. It should NOT read open or shorted in both directions. The capacitor check use R x 10,000 and probe the capacitor terminals. Reverse the leads and probe it again. You should see a brief jump in resistance and the meter will drift to infinity EACH time you reverse the leads.

If you want parts information I need the model number off of the unit data plate to get that information for you.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

My Marquis 5000 (579 hours) runs for about 20 minutes then suddenly stops generating electricity. The engine continues to run but there is no electricity output.

You might be exceeding the output rating of the generator. It has a max output that if you go over it might not trip the breakers because you are not overloading the circuits but you are exceeding the duty cycle. Just because you have many outlet receptacles does not mean that they can all be used at the same time.

Karcher 395 motor does not stop running

if your machine was factory fitted with 'total stop system' TSS and has always stopped in the past then it is an issue with many possible parts !

does the machinw still operate at full pressure ?
if the machine can produce full pressure then it only has to produce 20 % more to actuate the TSS piston. When the stop piston moves it presses against an electrical switch tjat breaks the circuit. Producing 20% more pressure requires that your machine has no water leaks in the pump, hose, trigger gun or lance. Once you release the trigger the path back from the trigger to the pump TSS piston must be fully sealed.....

If you have a Karcher then you should always post your machines barcode.
The karcher barcode is on a silver sticker and is usually 15 digits long. Example 156987400000123 is actually model 1.569-874.0 and serial number 00123....

First of all it is possible that the is no power going into the inverter,trace the input source to see if the connection from the generator is ok. check the fuse if it is broken if not, the contactor or switching relay in the inverter is bad

Using way to much oil

This is a Husky 455 Operator's Manual (May 2009)
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/HOUS/HOUS2009/HOUS2009_1151382-95.pdf
Page 37 explains the oiler adjustment. CAUTION: is has only 3 positions, forcing it to far CW or CCW will damage your saw. Against the CW stop is the minimum oil position.

You can find the correct manuals here:

HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Generator dose not produce power,just stop working.

Check the rectifier board installed under gen cover that powers the brushes. This board has a capacitor about 1 inch long and 3/4 inch dia. If the capacitor looks swollen or burned replace board or carefully remove cap and replace with similar. You can use a larger capacitor with same rating, just tie cap to rear cover. Also check the condition of the brushes. Parts are not too expensive. Check with jacksmallengines on the web for parts. enjoy
