The back plate of the keypad side of the lock on the exterior of the door has a sticker which includes the serial number, six digit programming code and two pre-programmed four digit user codes. The lock must be disassembled to a point the exterior of the lock can be pulled away from the door and the information on the sticker made note of.
This number is the programming code referenced in the information for changing the entry code.

This link will take you to the page that you need to get started:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx

Then scroll down to this heading on that page:

Electronic Security-Keypad Deadbolt BE365

There's a wealth of info under that heading. You will be able to see a PDF file of the original print instructions, as well as a video of how to install the lock. This installation video (second item down) will be useful to allow you to disassemble it and view the sticker. This is also a great time to change the 9-volt battery! Batteries should be replace about every three years.
The seventh item under that same header is a video which walks you through how to reprogram the keypad to your new code, using that programming code that you found on the backside of the keypad.
A note about the PDF files: If you cannot view a given file, you need to first install Adobe reader. You can get the free download from here:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

I replaces brakes and needed to add fluid to master cylinder, when i did i pulled off a small hose that went to air regulater and check engine lite came on. i found where hose went and put it back on but...

One can try to disconnect the battery to erase the code, but on later model cars, one needs an OBD-II scanner to erase codes (from 1996 on up).

On older OBD-I type cars disconnecting the battery for 30 sec. used to erase codes.

I pod touch while sincing new data, old is getting erased

Hi, I think you are using Itunes to Sync your IPOD-T.

If u r using Itunes Then u shouldn't delete any thing from ur ITUNES... Because, Sync is a option which will check the contents of your ipod and Itunes... If u erase anything from your itunes, then it will erase the same in ur IPod as well.... So U shouldn't delete anything from ur itunes....

Other option would be Manual Sync option... Where u have to drag and drop the contents from ur Itunes. Everytime....

Let me know, whether u want to manually add contents to ur ipod. so tat i can send u the settings?

Changing the combination

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} You must have the factory combination in order to change the combination that was added to the safe and the factory combination can not be erased if that is the combination you are trying to erase.

All you have to do is press program & type in the factory code 2 times & that will erase the number you created.

Then to add a new combination all you have to do is: press program followed by 5 new numbers. Then to see if they new number works, just type in the new combination & the green light should come on & you have 4 seconds to turn the handle
