SOURCE: LG LCD TV Standby Light Flashing Red Continuously

I have had this same problem twice in the past 3 months. So far both times I've been able to get it back after a week or two. I'm not sure what works, but unplugging and detaching the antenna and cable and waiting a few days seems to be the key. In both instances, I unplugged it for a few days then plugged it in for a few days and repeated the processes until I eventually got the steady red led. Both times prior to the red led the led would flash red then green and make a clickiing noise for several hours before I was able to get it working again.

SOURCE: My 42"LG 50 TV will not turn on

One important step to see if you are having an internal problem is to perform a power drain.

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board. 3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
If this does not work but you are still seeing a LED lit up, there is probably a problem between the TV's power supply and the mainboard and service maybe required.

SOURCE: LG 42 TV powers up for only a second then goes back out.

Undo the back and see if the fuses are blown. Replace them if they are.

How many times this power light flashes at one time switch on? Count it. These flashes are fault indications, and are called blinking codes. From the number of flashes occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
Blinking codes to many brand TVs are given in detail.

LG 17LX1R flashing red LED - TV won't power up

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have a 56" samsung rear projection tv that won't turn on. the red standby light is lit and when i push the power i hear two clicks and the green timer light flashes quickly then the green led stays lit...

I suspect you probably have a bad LED assembly. It could be either the red, green or blue that is bad and give you the same symptom. The problem is locating parts for it as it looks like the light engine is no longer available. I would have a technician look at the TV to verify this and what parts are needed for repair.

Stays in standbye and will only flash green (power on) twice before staying in standbye

The 6 inverter transformers on the bottom of the picture is the problem and what need to be tested.
Unplug the 6 wires that goes to the LCD screen. Use a multimeter to test for resistance from each output plug on the board. The one without the resistance is the bad one.
If this doesn't locate the bad one this way, Each plug should give out DC voltage if working properly. Test each plug for voltage.
The TV will automatically turn off in a couple of seconds like before. You'll have to keep pushing the power button to test each output plug for voltage.

Soon as you find the bad Inverter Transformer, just solder in a new one and the TV should work fine after that.
The part # for the Inverter Transformer is LTZ2PC0MS008.
Here's two places to get them:
