First of all what happened to it was there a driver update for the keyboard. Sometimes when you let Windows update the system it will do awkward things such as change certain drivers. What you can do is get a USB keyboard or a USB PS/2 converter if you're using PS/2 keyboards then you can just connect to the USB and then connect that to the laptop. If that works then you have to buy a replacement keyboard for your laptop. If you have the manual to the laptop you can follow the instructions how to open up and replace your keyboard.
