The buttons are requiring much more pressure for the remote to send signals. I suspect the plastic pad underneath is deteriorating. Are replacements available & if so from where? NOTE: I know how to disassemble and reassemble these HTM remotes.

Dissembled the remote, sprayed high quality contact cleaner, reassembled it and tested.
Signals are being sent BUT quite firm button press still required. I have 2 other identical remotes and they give no problem. However this particular remote has had a lot of use, suggesting the plastic part involved has hardened.
So my question remains - is this diagnosis correct and if so where can I buy a replacement part at a reasonable price?

Still in the process of obtaining the items required for the fix.

So, at the moment the problem is not solved.

It's nearly impossible to find that part. However, I'm not convinced the steps below at this link won't work http://keypadrepair.com/
This usually works like a charm. Good luck!

Hi,

You need to have an electrical contact cleaner to resolve the issue. That is very common problem which is caused by dirt build up inside. Spray it with the contact cleaner (don't wipe), wait a few minutes, re-assemble the unit and then you can use it again like new.
This is widely available at the electronics supply, homedepot, computer supply, etc...

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox LS and the drivers side front brakes keep locking up. Can I get some help with this problem. None of the lights come on when this happens.

Most likely the brake hose to the caliper is bad. They deteriorate from the inside and clog up, not releasing the fluid. A way to check is raise that tire pump up the brakes, release the hose at the caliper, if the caliper releases, the hose is bad, if it doesn't the caliper is bad or you have no brake pads left and the piston can/is cocked a bit.

Interior ring deteriorating

I suspect it's the aluminum spider arm that spins the back of the tub. The moist environment and the ionizing laundry detergent causes a chemical reaction that corrodes this easily and it breaks. It is covered under a lifetime warranty, so call Whirlpool and ask them to send the whole tub unit (the spider arm is attached via machineshop). You will need c-clip pliars to DIY or have a serviceman install it, and be sure to label the clips for when you put them back. This happened to us. The seal is part of the tub unit. Good luck!

37 in. Viewsonic TV volume steadily increases up to maximum 100. unable to control it until i pull the power plug

Either the button is jammed on the remote or the TV itself. Try removing the batteries from the remote. If the doesn't work, it is probably the actual button on the TV, in which case you would have to try and pry up the button and manually pull up the pressure pad underneath.

2 way viper lock light stopped working - how do i fix this?

It appears that the button is no longer making contact with the circuit board. There is pad underneath that may have shifted but, to repair is a pain and requires either a new shell or pad. It may be easier for you to purchase a new remote and program it to your system.

I need replacement rollers

Not a solution, but we have recently run into this problem too. Our elliptical eclipse 1100 HR has been great to u for 6 years. The rollers are cracking and deteriorating. We tried calling the 800 line and just keep getting a busy signal. No online website is available anymore for fitness quest. I'm assuming the company went out of business, is this correct?

Horn honks by itself

This is a common problem with GM vehicles in that year range. The horn switch (buttons) in the steering wheel pad get stuck closed. The switches are embedded in the air bag assembly and would be difficult to replace. A temporary fix to stop the horn is to remove fuse #3 in the relay center which is located in the bottom of the dash on the passenger side, the plastic cover has to be removed for access. DO NOT only disconnect the wires from the horns as the relay switch that controls the circuit will remain powered constantly and will kill your battery. To restore horn function there are aftermarket horn button kits available at most auto parts stores.

If this info is helpful please give me a favorable rating.

Skipping ahead when viewing recorded programs

It sounds liek your remote control button is sticking inside a bit.
To test it, have it playing, and hide the remote under a cushion so it can't possibly send a signal to the main unit.
Sometimes the rubber buttons need cleaning underneath, even though they don't appear to be stuck down at all.
Its also possible that the remote is actually just going faulty emitting fake signals. I have a HiFi that turns on and starts the radio all on its own (spooky!!!). I found its the remote occasionally sends a radio-on signal about once a week to the HiFi :)
I just hide the remote now unless i'm using the thing.

Liftmaster 973LM. Remote opener does not work. Replaced battery - still does not work. Original owner left no manuals. Works with outside pad and inside button.

ONCE YOU REPLACE THE BATTERY YOU NEED TO REPROGAM THE REMOTE.

WATCH THE LED NEXT TO THE PROGRAM BUTTON WHILE YOU PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE REMOTE IF IT FLASHES THE REMOTE IS SENDING A SIGNAL AND SHOULD WORK.

IF IT DOESN'T FLASH THE REMOTE BATTERY MAY BE IN BACKWARDS OR THE REMOTE MAY BE BAD - IT IS NOT SENDING ANY SIGNAL AT ALL.

HOPE THIS HELPS

My rca 60 inch keeps shuting off and switching channels

Remove the remote(or take out the batteries)from the room to be sure it's not sending out signals. If that dosn't work the problem is likely that the buttons on the front key pad are sending out signals -the front key pad board can be unplugged and you can still use the remote. let me know if you have further questions

Key Pad Entry does not work

does the key pad light when you press a button at night? If yes, the fuse is ok.
Do you have the plastic card with the permanent code in your owner manual packet? If yes, tryit.
report back.

Keyless Entry The keyless entry keypad is hardwired to the GEM. The GEM interprets the inputs from the keyless entry keypad and then controls the associated operation. The keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request the illuminated entry feature to turn the courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, the illumination will turn off, as well as request the illuminated entry feature to turn off the courtesy lamps. When pressed, the keyless entry keypad supplies the ground signal to the GEM or the GEM receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter. Then the GEM outputs a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies the power to the actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including the luggage compartment. The keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks the liftgate or activates the panic alarm by sending a signal to the GEM.
