I have a samsung lnt4042h (bought it 2008) and it has worked fine until about a couple months ago, when it started making a clicking sound before showing any picture. the tv clicks about 5-8 times before showing any picture...audio works fine...the tv is only about 4yrs old...i've read similar reviews/complaints about this model...what is wrong and how can i fix it??

It ur power supply board it have components,is dead could be anythings,Capacitors bulbging happen mostly only on DLP Tv bacauce the FTB transformer,give high voltage for projection.Tries thes websites for replacement power supply board.Shopjimmy.com,Tv Repair World.com,Partstore.com or Ebay.com.

Howdy,
It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM811, CM812, CM817 & CS806; 1000ufd 25volts.

I would check out the power supply module for bad caps with bulging tops. Check DC voltages at the output connectors, you should have 5, 12, 24V.
