Power supply problems. There are many reports on this site for problems related to the cyberhome dvd player, one of them mine. Here is what I found. The dvd drive was ok it was the power supply that failed after a power surge. The power supply is a flyback power supply using the viper22 switcher by STM Microelectronics. you can download the specs with a schematic diagram simular to the one in the cyberhome unit. I wound up replacing the shunt regulator (TL431) Optical coupler (PS2561-a-1) , the 2200uf cap and the 1000 uf cap. this brought the 5 volt output to 5 volts which was the problem. The parts can be ordered from Mouser Electronics.

High voltage power output error
The measured voltage is not correct when the EGB measures each charge output (charge, development, image transfer belt unit, and transfer unit).
Hi Joel, although we've sourced detailed schematic for this P4500 amplifier, there are no many voltage details on it for manufactures sake. Anyway, mine findings are. Secondary winding on main transformer should supply no less than 2 x 75 volts which makes after rectifying and filtration no less than 2 x 90 volts on capacitors with amplifier without input signal. Also transformer has to be very "hard" , otherwise amp will start clipping before reaching stated wattage on output.
If you have a digital tester or analog try to check the voltage reading from the power supply if high or low or no supply.Check first following voltage location and section.
* Check the AC voltage from ac cord to fuse and before the bridge type diode.
* Check the DC voltage after the bridge type diode.if normal voltage.
* Then check the voltage into the filter capacitor to regulator ic.the power ic.If theres a input voltage in the power ic,check the output voltage going to harizontal output.If no output the problem is you power output.You need to replace it.
Remove the cover of your DVD player.Loosening all screw.
Check the input voltage of the power supply 220v/120v AC.If don't have input supply that comes from the ac cord,replace it.
If you have a input voltage supply comes from the power cord.Check the output voltage of the power supply such as 5vdc and 12vdc.
If the you don't have output voltage from the power supply.Check the fuse if busted,check open/change value of capacitor,check power transistor (regulator)if shorted and leak/bulging top capacitor of the power supply board.If you found any defective parts replace it.
If you have output voltage comes from the power supply.The problem could be the main board,replace it.
If you already done this procedure,test it by power ON the DVD player.
