I keep getting a printer error 1500 on my canon printer. I reset like it says and it still keeps doing it.

Part A: Cleaning the waste ink tank.
1) Open the front cover and power-ON, when the catridge come out from where it hiding, quickly unplug the power cord.

2) Use a tissue (preferred toilet tissue) to **** out the excessive ink in the waste ink tank in where the catridge hide. After you satisfy, close the front cover.

Part B: Reset the waste ink counter.
3) While pressing the ON button, plug in the power cord. The power light will be in orange/yellow. (This is mean it is in service mode).

4) Keep pressing the ON button, press the RESUME button 4 times. (The light change everytime you press it.)

5) Release both buttons, and restart the printer.

The printer should now operate as usual and stop blinking it LED.

Best of luck!

I have a Canon iX4000 color printer which is now showing a Error 5C00\r\nplease help

Your 'waste ink tank' is supposedly getting full.
Note that it may actually be getting full, if it is, and you keep printing, it can get messy. very very messy. ;>
I'd use a piece of folded newspaper about the size of the printer underneath the printer just to be safe. If you do this waste tank counter reset a few times, you WILL leak ink.

Power off the printer. Hold down Resume button, keep holding.
Hold down power button, wait for beep, release resume button while still holding power button down.
Press Resume twice, and release all buttons. Wait for indicator light to settle (stop changing). Press resume either 3 or 4 times, the indicator light will turn orange when you have pressed it enough times. Do not hold, just press.
When the light is orange, press power.

If you still get the error, you may have enough ink to actually physically block a sensor in the tank. When that happens, not only are you close to ink stains, you have to disassemble the printer and clean the pads and 'tank' out. This is even messier than an ink leak. ;>

Getting error U043 "The following ink tank cannot be recognized. I have the correct tank. Pixma 520 ...tank # 5 PGBK

Hi,

The little chips on the front of the cartridge create a trouble for people trying to refill the cartridge, as of right now, there is no way to easily reset the chips. If you refill them, they still register as empty, and therefore don't work.

If the following tips doesn’t help, you can try to install the original new ink cartridge following the instructions in the user manual. This can solve the problem.
Note :
Be sure to install the ink tanks in the correct order indicated by the label on the Print Head Holder. The machine will not print if an ink tank is installed in the incorrect position.
For information on the compatible ink tanks, refer to the back cover of the Quick Start Guide.
Tips before Replacing Ink Tanks : Important:
- To maintain optimal printing quality, we recommend the use of specified Canon brand ink tanks.
Refilling ink is not recommended.

- Once you remove an ink tank, replace it immediately. Do not leave the machine with ink tanks removed.
- Replace empty tanks with new ones. Inserting partially used ink tanks may cause the nozzles to clog. Furthermore, with such tanks, the machine will not be able to inform you when to replace the tanks properly.
- Once an ink tank has been installed, do not remove it from the machine and leave it out in the open. This will cause the ink tank to dry out, and the machine may not operate properly when it is reinstalled. To maintain optimal printing quality, use an ink tank within six months of first use.
- Color ink may be consumed even when printing a black-and-white document or when black-and-white printing is specified.
Color ink is also consumed in Print Head Cleaning and Print Head Deep Cleaning, which may be necessary to maintain the machine's performance. When an ink tank is out of ink, replace it immediately with a new one.

After replacing ink tank;
Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After five minutes or more, plug the power cord of the machine back in, and then turn on the machine.

All the best.
