Hi betty2293,

Low resolution on your desktop can be for two reasons ,

  1. You have chosen a low resolution from your desktop properties, you need to check this up , by right clicking anywhere in a free area of your desktop , then selecting properties --> settings tab and then you find an option to change the resolution.
  2. If you don't find multiple options to select that means, it's because of no video drivers installed.
  3. Therefore you need to use your motherboard supplied CD to install the VGA/Video drivers and things should work fine for you and you will be able to find multiple resolutions in your settings tab which I described above.
Hope this helps...:)

How fix computer monitor stuck in low resolution

If your resolution is too low, you can change that by clicking on the Start button and then clicking on Control Panel. From the Control Panel window, click on Adjust screen resolution from beneath the Appearance and Personalization section. From the Resolution drop-down, select the highest resolution by moving the slider to the top. Your resolution should be just fine now.

To change your font size, go back to Control Panel, search for "window color" in the search box, and then click on Change window colors and metrics". You can adjust font sizes from here.

Screen flashes colors

The issue (flashes" colored screens) you're facing could be related to drivers and could be resolved by updating the display drivers. Without the correct driver, the hardware or device that you want to use won't work properly.
Also refer to:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
Let's try to boot the computer in low resolution mode and check the issue status.
Low resolution starts Windows using your current video driver and using low resolution and refresh rate settings. You can use this mode to reset your display settings.
Refer the section:
Enable low-resolution video (640×480)

Why low resolution?

Uploading them via the SD card will have no effect on the resolution.
There is a difference between image grain and image pixelation.
If the resolution is too low for the size you are printing the image will pixelated, meaning that it will be made up of lots of little squares.
If the image is grainy it may be that you are shooting images in low light at a high ISO setting on the camera. Typically with the lower end Canon cameras anything above 800ISO will start to look grainy.

Change screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They also appear smaller, so more items fit on the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items fit on the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images might have jagged edges.

For example, 640 × 480 is a lower screen resolution, and 1600 × 1200 is a higher one. CRT monitors generally display a resolution of 800 × 600 or 1024 × 768. LCD monitors can better support the higher resolutions. Whether you can increase your screen resolution depends on the size and capability of your monitor and the type of video card you have.
