I have just replaced a black toner on my magicolor 5670en and the printer still indicates the toner k is out. I have checked and doubled checked the new toner cartridge but can't seem to get beyond the error message. Is this due to a faulty cartridge or is there something else I need to do? Any help/advice gratefully received.

Are the image units OEM? or third party? if replace with oem cartridges. Toner same thing

Then you mite want to clean the sensor that monitor the waster toner box pull out the waste toner box and look for the area that show clear plastic then look for those area of the machine and blow the old toner from those areas waste toner mite have gotten on the sensor saw they can not see the clear plastic and think that the waste toner cart is still full.

Remove the Yellow Drum unit, Check the drum for any toner. The drums should be clean and I believe a Green color. If you see any toner on the yellow unit replace the unit. Some models have a charge cleaner built into the image units, if that is the case with yours you will see a light blue knob on the front of the unit. Pull this knob in and out about 5 times to clean the units charger this may correct the problem without replacing the yellow image unit.

If you have changed the toner cartridge, the printer must complete a calibration cycle (up to 150 seconds). If you open the door before the Ready indicator on the control panel lights up and the Error indicator turns off, the printer stops and repeats the calibration cycle.

1. Open the Status Display (double-click on Status Display icon in the system tray on the lower right-hand portion of the task bar, OR click Start/Programs/KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2300W Utilities/KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 2300W Status), and then check which toner color is empty.
2. From the Print menu choose Toner Replace...
3. In the Color list box, select the color of the toner cartridge to be replaced (CYAN, MAGENTA, YELLOW, or BLACK).
4. Select the capacity of the new toner cartridge (1500 or 4500).
5. Click OK.
6. When the toner indicator on the control panel starts flashing, open the printer's front door. The carousel is automatically repositioned so that the appropriate toner cartridge can be removed.
7. Insert your thumb and index finger into the two holes in the front of the toner cartridge, and then pull the cartridge straight out about 6" (15 cm).
8. Support the middle of the cartridge with your left hand, and then pull out the cartridge.
9. Remove the new toner cartridge from its shipping carton.
10. Remove the protective cover clearly marked 'Remove'.

Support the middle of the cartridge with your left hand, insert the thumb and index finger of your right hand into the two holes in the front of the toner cartridge, and then insert the cartridge so that the guides on the cartridge fit into the rails in the cartridge compartment in the carousel.
12. Gently push the new toner cartridge into the printer.
13. Close the printer's front door.
