Uninstall all drivers and scanning software. Switch off the comp and Scanner, restart the scanner first and then the computer. Then reinstall software again

I have this copier too but only use it as a copier in my classroom. It's a stand alone. But can't print. There is no software to install on a computer so I don't know how to fix it if there's no software.

i have found the way to scan items from a Canon MX310 (on windows)

1.On windows go to control panel
2. click hardware and sounds
3. then hit devices and printers
4. then click on the Canon Inkjet MX310 seriers
5. then you will see scanner management click on scan Photos or docs
6.then place the photo or doc under the scanner and hit scan!

That is all the steps you will need.

I had the same problem. I simply printed a document and after that, the scanner was up and running again. Strange...

Once you re installed whole software ......... and install one by one softwares frm CD...... and go to control panal and change the settings ther.............
and restart you system .

Uninstall existing canon software first then restart your PC and disconnect USB cable of printer.
After booting install again canon printer software, in installation read instruction carefully.

You need to control the scanner thru your PC with canon software that came with your printer/scanner otherwise you cant scan anything..

First open the printer/scanner software on PC,select scanner,then place your document and command "scan" on your PC..On this window you can also alter the scanner preferences..thats it..

I figured out that my boss doesn't know that there isn't a difference between "rebooting" and "restarting".

I am sorry I bugged you all.

How long is your USB cabel? Support recommends me to use cabel short than 3 meters, I bought 1,8 m cabel, what solved my similar problem (scanner freeze).
