Laptop hinge wont move

I would loosen or unscrew the 8? screws that hold the display on, this will loosen it off without everything coming apart, then tilt the screen down, lift the from the bottom of the screen, pry without breaking, take that panel off and see if you can replace or find the part that came out, it maybe screws or another piece. You can probably put it back together if it fell out, then just put the screen plate back on.

A hinge seems to be broken or loose on the laptop screen, how can i fix it

Many laptops have plastic coverings on their hinges. You can can pop these off with a screw driver and sometimes you can reach the screws to tighten the hinges from here. You may be able to tell if the hinge is broken from here as well. Many times, though, the screws holding the hinges in place are located on the bottom and you will have to remove the portion of the case that is covering them. This usually means the entire lower portion of the laptop case to access these screws.

Broken Inspiron 1525 Lid

hello

To fix your laptop follow the steps given below.
  • First of all as your hinges are broken you have to buy a pair of hinges for your laptop model.
  • This hinge includes the whole assembly made up of metal with a part which attaches your screen to the laptop.
  • Now you have to open up your laptop from the backside and disassemble the upper side.
  • This will make you see the part which detaches tour screen from the laptop.Just remove the screws and your screen will be completely detached.
  • now you can replace the damaged hinges with the new one.
  • you have to remove four screws for one hinge. Two screws supporting the screen and two attaches the screen with the laptop.
  • so remove these screws and replace the hinges and pack the laptop again.
And the lines are basically due to the movement of loose connector. So while fixing please fix the connector also.

Thank you

Screen on Sony VAIO PCG-SRX99 needs to be tightened.

you will have to take the bezel front plate of the screen off and check to see if anything there has broken from the hinges. there are usually two-three screws holding the hinge to the screens back cover and two-three holding it in place on the base of the laptop. if all those are intact you will need to replace the hinges.

good luck

Broken laptop screen HP Pavilion ZV6000

I have a HP Pavilion zv6000 laptop too, and I have the same problem. A year ago, the screen was getting loose and finally it just broke. Won't stand up. I've been propping it up against a wall for a year. I can see what is wrong: my laptop has gotten so hot that the back of the laptop where the hinges are has warped and ruined the hinges. Do you notice that? The split in the seem and the actual bend of the plastic? Anyway, the computer itself works perfectly. I was going to buy new hinges and replace them myself, but it was too much of a hassle, and I needed a new laptop anyway. The hinges are inexpensive. And the laptop isn't TOO difficult to take apart (search for the manual. it's easy to find). I took it apart with my Grandpa, and he's old, and I'm a girl. (okay, sexist, gender...ist.) I actually received a new laptop as a gift. Luckily. No solution, other than replacing hinges. I just wanted to let people know I too had the same problem.

Hinge gave out

Ebay the model and see if someybody is parting your model out. The "hinge" can cost up to $100 for one side if purchased new. I needed both sides and the diplay clamshell for my Toshiba and got it for $35, including a signal cable and invereter.
