My receiver in my boat does not respond to any of the modes. Even the power switch does not turn off the unit. I have to cut the power to turn off the device. Any ideas?

You are using a non marine radio unit in a marine enviroment.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that the electronics are corroded and causing a short in the unit.

My Double Horse 7000 RC boat will not run

Hi,
myy was working then stoped. Battery was full. I disasemble it and found that the on/off switch stoped working because of the rust (water is getting inside). I manage to make a direct conection solding the black and red wire in this switch. Try it.

AVR amber light will not return to blue after

There is an internal reset switch mounted on the transformer board. Open the unit, look at the boards attached to the transformer, the pushbutton is facing up. Measure the voltage on the 2 pins of the switch. If it is a logic low, the switch is partially shorted. Replace the switch or just cut the jumper wire just below thw switch. When this switch fails, it constantly resets the receiver and stops it from powering up. It does not fix a protection mode problem.

Hello there:
they do use some of the battery if it is wired into somthing that feeds directly off the battery i would recomend getting a battery disconnect switch this way when you turn off the switch the whole electrical system will be disabled. go to www.westmarine.com they have them listed on their website even though they might not be local you can get a idea of what you are going to be looking for ok?

Does the small jensen power button light stay on all the time?I installed it on a boat, the dim blue light its lit all the time!

Yes it does. I installed the same unit on my boat and ran an inline switch to the battery to turn it off so as to not wear the battery down.

Gps error message "gps module not responding"

Check the connectors and wiring between the GPS module and sonar unit. If it's an internal GPS module yo may have knocked loose a connector internally.

Try installing a toggle switch to cut the power and the light may be on because you have the illumination wire hooked up.

No power

Do you have the manual. I have the same model installed on my BMW 1100RT motorcycle and it requires two power hookups. One senses the ignition is turned on and the other is the power up from power source. If the ignition power wire isn't connected, the unit will not powerup. You can however, connect both of these power wires to bypass the ignition switch. This ignition switch is used so you don't kill your batter by accident. I'm sure that wouldn't be good on a boat. Good luck!

I wonder if the module has failed again, have you tried reseting the device?

I'm looking into this but I suspect that repairs are required again.

Overload?

From the manual, you may have seen this: Switch off the unit, determine and correct the cause, then switch the unit on. Causes include: ?Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires. ?Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit. ?Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power. ?Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.
