First off learn its not one chip
all PCs and for sure all HP
HP S5680t (what is that?)
ah, its a
"HP Pavilion Slimline s5680t CTO Desktop PC:
most HP PCs have 1 to 3 or more choices day 1 (bought)
for that chip, (for good reasons I will not tell now)
but is just a fact, that means use the correct driver to match your MOBO. there.
there are mobo chips (Ethernet) or PCI card chips for same
I have no idea at all what you have, i cant look in the case and see this in 1sec.flat, can I.
(and I sure could if there)
see my generic photo below for proof...
the HP driver comes as and EXE file,
its a program wrapped around a driver.
that program will talk to you, did it say it fails.
if yes, take that to the bank it it did.
for 3 reasons (lots of experience here on this)
1: wrong driver, it says basically that.
2: OS is corrupted. run SFC scannow, yet>
3: missing BASE line drivers.
3a: pretend building a home, and the framer guys start before the foundation was poured. hark. fail. epic.
like this.: Original Intel Chipset Driver
like this: Original Realtek Networking Controller Driver
7.17.304.2010
but WAIT , HP has driver gawd ! called SOFTPAQ
get that first. (or reinstall hp w7)
run softpaq, i cant find it for yours.
that means no driver gawd, auto driver fixer program
so you get to load the them all in the correct order
or run the F11 fresh installed or the HP media kit install.
try to know there is no why for microsoft to update any driver here
its and HP system , only HP can fix your system using only HP drivers, missing none , or installed in the wrong order.
if at witts end go to realtek, dot com home page and get it there.
last resort that, and can work.
real now
hp no help at all is bs
ever heard of HP forums. wow.
discussion boards = forums,
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktops/ct-p/DesktopPC
i bet you never tried there.
login ask.
free help, 10000s watching. helping. with skills.
here is a fix that works
keep in mind what WINDOZ 7 now has 300+_ updates
and windows updates can in fact break perfectly good
HP driver agents.
that agent is sp12345.exe
may not like your newer version of W7 or is corrupted.
the fix is using free 7zip
to extract the actual driver code then manually installing the driver.
its rare failure. Ive seen it and done this many times.(on may PCs not just HP, 100s since 1981.
here is the same fix here.

Have you tried going to the Command Prompt and seeing if you're getting an IP address?
In vista, go to the start menu, and in the search box type "cmd".
Depending on what settings you have, you may want to maximize the window (will go to one side). Now, type in "ipconfig" and you should get a list of network connections and addresses. If you're doing this on your desktop computer hardwired to the router, look for "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection", and see if you have an IP address from there. You should have a default ip address (it may say IPv4) of "192.168.1.* ", the * being any number the router gave you. The "Default Gateway" should be 192.168.1.1.
If you are getting an address, then the next thing to do would be to test the connection. in the same window, type "ping 192.168.1.1" and you should get 4 replies, all with different information.
Now for the bad news; if you do not have an address or are not getting any replies from the router, it may be dead and you may need to invest in a new wireless router.

Hello
Wow youve done almost everything here. How about the firewall? is it blocking any connections?
Next,Go to control panel, network and sharing center.Look and see if the pc or laptop in question is on the same network, meaning home or public.
Set all your machines to the same network.Either home or public.I do know this has been a win 7 problem.

Correct, it will take you to that screen if you don't have it set to boot from the CD drive first, as it is booting from the hard drive and it cannot boot as there is no system installed yet.
You can go into the BIOS and set the boot order as 1-CD, 2-HD.
When you boot from the CD, watch the svreen for a prompt that says press ENTER to boot from CD.
You can also boot from CD by pressing the F12 key to get into the boot sequence where you can choose to boot from the CD, also keep watch for the press ENTER to boot from CD.
Good luck, and have a pleasent day.
