I AM HAVING ALTEC LANCING AVS300. I HAVE LOADED WINDOWS-7. THE SYS IS SHOWING SOUND DRIVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED.PL HELP AND LET ME DOWN LOAD DRIVERS, TELL ME THE TOTAL SITE ADDRESS.

Hello waiyasin, this altec lancing don't need a driver, it just plug and play hardware. if there is a problem with the driver, try to install sound driver from your motherboard driver. if u use external sound card, try to install sound driver from the sound card driver. if u have problem how to install the driver then u just need open the device manager. u can find it on control panel. once u open the device manager window, insert motherboard driver (or sound card driver if u use external driver) into CD Rom. in device manager window u will find sound or audio device, right click it and choose update driver then follow the instruction. that's it.

When you upgrade to a new Operating System, sometimes your hardware is not recognized correctly by the new OS.
In your computer, the sound card is not installed correctly. Search for Windows 7 sound drivers for your sound card and install.

Windows 7 is the latest version and it comes with most drivers Pre-Installed/Loaded,
But if somehow you miss driver for a hardware then don't panic!
If you are seeing Unknown Device in Device Manager then open its Properties and click Update Driver

This is a typical sign of a defective hard drive.Your hard drive might or might not be repairable, depending on the degree of damage.
I would recommend that you use a live CD (such as this one: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html) to boot up your computer & run a hard disk diagnostic tool like HDD Regenerator. It might take several hours (sometimes days) to fix the damage. If this did not help, then you will have to replace the hard drive.

I am having a problem with my Altec Lancing speakers not playing. The sound comes from the speakers on my lap top, the headphones work and the sound card is fine.
Of course make sure they are pluged into the right spot, they are powered on...sometimes the volume control is all the way off.

What's the volt & amps of Altec Lansing AVS300 2.1 speaker system

Or You could get a universal that is rated for output of 18volt DC, 650ma, Center Positive.
I have used a 15volt DC, 900 ma with no problem, but I never run the volume high.

Laptop sound problem
Sexxxyyy! Hit up the compaq website.

www.compaq.com will do.
Go for support/drivers/downloads.. whichever you see first, then navigate through to laptops, your specific model of laptop, your windows version etc etc... eventually when you have narrowed it down enough, it will give you a page of drivers for your secific laptop.

Get the audio (and anything else you are missing), extract it, then run the setup.exe program. Should be that easy! =-]

Not getting sound card driver
Type in "compaq Presario" and the complet model number "on the bottom of the laptop" into Google along with the words " sound card drivers". Google should bring you up a list of were to go to download the sound card drivers.
