Describe your NT50AE2 2" Brad

There is a dial located by the business end of the Brad that adjusts the depth it fires. Also make sure you air pressure ( written on the stapler ) is set to level issued by the manufacturer. It'll say something like max pressure 90 psi. That would mean you will need to adjust the regulator pressure on your compressor to no more then 90 psi or to what ever number that is written on that sticker. Use a test piece of wood and turn the pressure down if you have no luck until you get the desired results.

If you can check nailer on another compressor. If it works check your compressor, if not the nail gun is in need of repairs. Otherwise, reading the two guages on the compressor, check that the pressure in the tank is around 100psi and the regulated pressure is between 85 and 90psi. If not, regulated pressure is adjusted by the knob on the front of the housing. With a blowgun on the end of hose, connect the other end to the compressor. If you don't get any air the regulator may be broken and not letting air through. If you have air at the blowgun the problem may be with the nailer.

Sb504000 works just fine with pressure range from 60 to 120 psi depending on material. Any small compressor will work great. Using the gun at max pressure will shorten the life of the gun. Best practice is to set pressure to just under 100psi for most work and increase pressure when nailing hard wood. Using at max pressure will strain the driver and the lower part of gun (screws that hold nose to body). Some hard woods will bend an 18 gauge nail. Can u adjust the drive depth on the tip of the gun? My nailers all have a knob to adjust the drive depth. Also, what pressure are you using? I typically shoot mine between 90 and 120 psi. Hope this helps.

Hello. To adjust the depth of the nail you have to increase or decrease the air pressure from the compressor. Look at the compressor and you will see a knob or dial that you can turn to increase or decrease the air pressure. Do this adjustment in small increments testing the nailer by driving nails into a scrap of the same material you will be driving the nails into on the actual job. Increasing the pressure will drive the nail deeper and decreasing the pressure will drive the nail less deep. Joe

A brad nailer in good working order, set to the deepest setting and using 125psi should almost shoot the brad through the wood. If you have been oiling the gun properly (three to four drops at he beginning of your work session and again in the afternoon if under constant use) then you probably have some worn o-rings inside the gun. Porter Cable makes a driver maintenance kit (PN1001 60062) for your gun that will make it work like new.

check for a broken driver blade, also make sure of the proper nail guage for the tool. Let me know if this is not the case and I will find you a breakdown for the tool for further inspection.

Hi there. This is normal. The pressure is set to stop at around 120-140 PSI as a safety measure. It probably kicks in again around 80 PSI so as to remain pressurized between 80 and 140 PSI. Since most air tools operate in this range, it is ok for the compressor to maintain pressure in that range. You do not want to adjust the maximum pressure safety release valve as it could be extremely dangerous as certain components in the compressor may only be rated up to 140 PSI or slightly higher before they fail or blow apart.

sounds like an air leak of some sort. when you get it up to as high as it will go, turn it off and listen for an air leak. Let me know where it is leaking and i will tell you what to fix

Not sure about the seal, but I do know the pressure has to stay up for this nailer to be effective. Try oiling the gun to free up the mechanics and don't use old nails.
